Disclaimer: I do not own Pirates of the Caribbean

Author's Note: This was written last February for LJ's potcfest. I realized I never did get around to posting it here, so I thought now would be a good time, what with Talk Like a Pirate Day coming up and all. Oh, and I'll have my latest installment of my Talk Like a Pirate Day posted on Friday.

"Anamaria?" Elizabeth exclaimed. "Come in, sit down! I haven't seen you in ages! Where have you been keeping yourself?"

Anamaria sat down and took the cup of tea that Elizabeth offered her. "Oh, here and there. I got a lead on that treasure down along the Brazilian coast, but it came to nothing. I'm on my way to Boston, but I thought I'd stop by here to provision the ship. The crew could use a little shore leave and a lot of them have families here at the Cove."

Elizabeth sat back in her chair, took a sip of her tea and shook her head. "I still can't believe you finally got Jack to give you that ship he owed you."

Anamaria laughed. "Well, it took long enough, sure! But I suppose the waiting paid off. My Enterprise is a beauty."

"That she is," Elizabeth agreed. "Fastest ship in the Caribbean?"

"Well, probably not," Ana admitted. "But she's the perfect size for a smuggler. And fast enough. But speaking of Jack, I ran into him in Havana last month."

Elizabeth perked up at this news. "How is he?"

"Same as ever. Said he was planning to stop by here soon. Apparently Barbossa stole something of his--"

Elizabeth snorted. "As if that's anything new."

"Right. And he wants you to settle the matter for him."

Elizabeth sighed. "Those two are like two children fighting over their favorite toys. They--"

A sudden ringing interrupted her. "Oh, I'm sorry, excuse me, won't you?" She whipped out her cell phone and brought it to her ear. "Yes? Yes. Well, you can tell Captain Barbossa that he can bloody well wait-- What? Fine. I'll be right down." She snapped the phone closed, and slammed it on the table.

"Barbossa's here?" Anamaria asked, looking amused.

"Yes. Honestly, I wish we had done more to keep him away from the Fountain. Three hundred years dealing with that man is driving me mad."

"Well, you know what they say -- the more things change..." Anamaria said, as she pulled out her own cell phone to check her messages. There was only one, a text message. Ana. Borrowed yr boat. luv Jack. She sighed. "...the more they stay the same."
