Afraid of the dark.

We're all so very afraid of the dark in our own ways and many may pause a moment to reconsider their fears and instead address that they are, in fact, only afraid of what lurks within the dark. In reality, we're just truly afraid of the dark.

Of the unknown.

She, though she'd never admit, was terrified. A life of uncertainty, of pain and rejection, topped with a little bit of fear, too. The dark was like the future and that shook her bones to the core: you don't know what the dark holds, or the future, but both will contain their own amount of horrors after some time.

There was one thing in her scattered life that drew open a shutter and let the light fall upon those horrors and pull them out of sight. His breath trickled down her neck in a lustful way and the hairs on her arms rose in attention. He always found the perfect moments to make an appearance, to soothe her overwhelming thoughts, to quiet the voices that haunted her.

"Fiyero, my hero." She purred in a loving fashion, letting him kiss her on the cheek.

Elphaba did not see his smile but she felt it form on the line of his lips and settle. His heart, she knew, burst when she addressed him. Fiyero, her heart and the only happiness in this tired and funny excuse for a life. Dreadful and cold, he had managed to make her experience an emotion she'd never quite felt fully before.

Happiness.

Fiyero placed his hand on the spot where her hip turned, gracefully, into her side and ribcage. The blue diamonds danced upon his hand as he traced the taut outline of her abdomen and circled the small bellybutton. What was the need of a Heaven when you could enjoy a love like this?

Perfection, the simplest way to describe the moment.

He didn't know how she felt through words but she felt as if her eyes gave it away. Elphaba was far too stubborn to give away her heart, but maybe not stubborn…just safe, and careful. It was best this way. Fiyero, after all, had a wife and children back home. Sparkling eyes and laughing faces that were eagerly awaiting his return and here she was taking that away from them. But oh, he is so beautiful. The wonderful outline of his body, the blue diamonds that littered his body and every indentation of muscle, that face that held his emotions, and those eyes. Those eyes that melted whenever she smiled at him.

She loved him. He, Fiyero Tigelaar, held her heart in his hands and for once she was glad about that. He was her hero whom saved her from the horrors, from the dark, and from herself. Elphaba's own personal savior.

Elphaba turned to face him and smile; meeting his eyes and melting all at once. Without words she placed her lips upon his and lost herself in his embrace and together they created a passion that melted each other's hearts.
