Hey it's me again! Mwa ha ha! Before you read this, let me give you some
background. I was going to put this in Girls at Hogwarts as just a random
chapter somewhere in the middle, but I decided to make it a story by
itself. It's going to be pretty short, maybe three or four chapters;
however I'm not sure yet. Have fun! (Oh by the way, my spell checker
SUCKS it doesn't pick up anything so if there are grammatical or spelling
errors sorry!!)
NOTE: If you don't know Fruits Basket very well, then you will find this story VERY confusing as I don't go much into detail about the story (it's more the characters I'm after).
Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter (except for Professor Broderick) or Fruits Basket, just the plot of my story.

"It's almost time to go, class. Your homework, which is due two weeks from now, is to read a Muggle graphic novel and write a report comparing the characters with Muggles, and then the characters with wizards. Please bring your books to me so I can make sure that they are appropriate. You are dismissed." Said Professor Broderick, who taught Muggle Studies.
Hermione left the classroom, thinking about what book she should read.
Professor Broderick was trying to teach the class like a Muggle teacher would (i.e. book reports etc.). It almost reminded Hermione of elementary school. Except for all the magic.
She checked her watch. Fifteen minutes until her next class.
That would give her a little time to go to the library and look for a book.
Transfiguration wasn't too far away; she could spend maybe ten minutes there.
The library had an entire Muggle book section, and about half of a row of shelves was devoted to graphic novels (otherwise known as manga).
The rest of the shelf was a complete collection of the Nancy Drew books.
Hermione started skimming the titles...Yu Yu Hakusho... no, she didn't want anything with fighting in it...D-N-Angel...it looked cute, but Hermione wasn't in the mood...Fruits Basket...that looked interesting.
Hermione took it down from the shelf and read the back.
A story about the Chinese Zodiac...Hermione decided to look into it.
At the worst, she could just turn it in and get a new one.
She checked it out and ran to class; she had lost track of the time.
Hermione got to the Transfiguration classroom just before the bell rang.
"Ooh, Hermione, you're cutting it close. Better watch out next time," Ron teased her as she sat down in front of Harry.
"Be quiet, Ron; who are you to talk? You're late to class half the time!" snapped Hermione.
"Ouch, Ron, you better not insult Hermione. You know she'll always have a comeback." grinned Harry.
"Shut up Harry."
After Transfiguration, the three headed to lunch.
Hermione sat down, grabbed a sandwich, and began to read.
"Hey that's one of those manga books, isn't it?" Harry asked.
"Yeah..." Hermione answered, reading it.
"Why is it backwards? Was it misprinted or something?" Ron asked.
"No, Ron, it was intentionally printed this way. In Japan, that is how they read and write. This book was written and illustrated by one Natsuki Takaya, who lives in Japan. It was translated into English. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to read this so I can get my book report done before it's due."
Hermione continued reading, finding the book quite interesting.
7:30 PM
Hermione finished her homework early. All she had to do now was finish the book. She grabbed it out of her book bag and started reading.
7:45 PM
Hermione sat back in her chair, having just finished the first volume of Fruits Basket.
"That's pretty good. I wonder if the library is still open; I could check the second and third ones out."
She hurried down to the library, hoping it was still open.
She walked in. It was nearly empty.
"Hurry up, girl, I'm closing the library in ten minutes, so you better know what you're looking for!" Madame Pince called from behind her desk.
"Yes Madame Pince." Hermione answered.
She found the two books she wanted and came back to the desk.
Madame Pince checked them out for her, and before 8:00, Hermione was back in Gryffindor tower.
