Request ficlet for Riuolo. Prompt was daycare and magic markers. I do not own Naruto.
"Sasuke, Naruto, what are you two doing!" an irate Umino Iruka bellowed at the top of his lungs the moment he stepped into the activity room. Since opening his own daycare center a few years ago, he had loved every minute of his job; until he met these two pint-sized terrors, that is.
The toddlers in question paid him no heed, continuing to draw all over the wall furiously, completely engrossed in some sort of frenzied competition only they understood.
Enough was enough. "Stop that this instant!" Iruka ordered, snatching the magic markers from both boy's hands with impressive speed. He pocketed the markers and picked up both children, one in each arm. "You naughty boys are getting a timeout to think about what you've done. You shouldn't draw on things that don't belong to you, its wrong and rude!" he scolded at the silent duo.
He put them down in an empty playpen in one corner of the room, shaking his head. "Now I've got to go and get cleaning supplies..." he trailed off, already halfway across the room.
Sasuke and Naruto waited until Iruka had left before each pulled another marker out of their pockets. They smirked at each other knowingly and without a word between them decided to continue their game with the only canvas available to them; each other.
Naruto chose to draw stars and hearts around Sasuke's eyes, attempting to make him look like some sort of clown. Sasuke, meanwhile, drew whiskers and circles on Naruto's face, envisioning him as some sort of dog or fox. The two boys got so into their game that they quickly tired themselves out; five minutes later found the pair sleeping peacefully beside one another, each grasping at the other like a pillow.
When he returned a short while later, Iruka had to stifle an exasperated cry of defeat when he saw the children. They had outsmarted him again. Never mind that, however, he had bigger things to worry about.
...How was he ever going to explain this to their parents?
