I never fully understood why it was "complicated" between them; these sorts of things were meant to be easy. A smooth transition from being single to becoming a couple.
It was easy to do, when a boy likes me he lets me know. Or when I like a boy, I let him know. Why these two couldn't just let each other know how they felt was beyond me.
They were perfect for each other, Detective Beckett carefully guarded herself but Dad was free and open. Where Dad was light and spirited, Detective Beckett was serious.
They balanced each other out, their personalities didn't clash with each other but instead they would mesh seamlessly together.
And it was clear that they like each other, after all they went on so many dates. Although both would deny that they were dates, more like two friends going out. They could call it whatever they wanted to, it was still a date.
They were always on the phone with each other, even after spending the whole day together. And Dad invited her constantly to the loft for dinner and movies.
He had never really brought women over to our home, trying to keep me apart from that side of his life. When he was still with Gina, he only introduced us once they were already engaged.
And even when they had been married he didn't allow her to just have access to me. But with Detective Beckett it was different; he encouraged a relationship between us.
I had seen him grin like a fool the once while having a conversation with Detective Beckett on one of our movie nights. It was clear to me that he was happy we got along.
But now all he had to do was tell her how he felt, or she had to let him know that she did in fact like him.
Maybe they just needed a helping hand to move things along, it wouldn't be interfering. Gram felt the same way that I did; maybe she would be willing to help me get the two together.
It was frustrating to see them make gooey eyes at each other and not do anything more.
Yes, I would definitely be talking to Grams about this.
FIN.
