A/N- My first attempt at a little NejiTen One-Shot. I recently got back into Naruto, so I'm jumping back on this fandom train with a little One-Shot. Enjoy! :)

The Place

The tremulous branches swayed in rhythm with the silent winds surrounding the Leaf village. They had both over stayed a training session; the usual involving Tenten striking at him with her weapons and him evading them. Time seemed to go by quickly when progress was being made.

He found himself sitting in the exact place he sat years ago before the Chuunin exams were taken. Slightly above his head, the same target that had been there for training had remained untouched, but shabby from the target practice taken place all those years.

Before he knew it, a couple of kunais and shurikens whistled through the air; not once did he find himself flinch. Through all the years of training together, he knew the results of her weapons without even glancing for the results- perfect as always.

Although the perfect results weren't anything new, she always found herself smiling each time, proud of what she has become. Glancing towards her partner, the weapon's specialist asked, "So Neji, how's about we call it a day?" Feeling the need to, she began to brush the dust off her clothes, and swiping sweat off here and there. Quickly after adjusting herself, she noted her team mate's stare. She had always noticed his clear and pearl eyes, but for some reason, right at that moment, they had more mystery than usual. She couldn't help but wonder what would go through his mind at times.

He caught himself in his stare and quickly snapped out of the trance. He picked himself up, and also brushed off dust from his clothes. Recalling her previous question, he answered, "I guess so. It's getting late." The sun had begun to set, filling the sky with warm colors.

Tenten walked over to the target and retrieved her weapons. She glanced at Neji, noting the stare had left his eyes. Smiling, she added, "Well, you want to go grab a bite to eat? It's been a long day."

Almost instantly, without thought, he answered, "Sorry, but I'm not interested." Thinking back, the answer to her invites hadn't changed either.

"As usual." She chuckled, and began walking away towards the inner village.

He watched her until she disappeared into the inner village of Konoha. He began reminiscing about the past in this very place where they always managed to get away from Gai and Lee. Even the target practice with his head being so close to the target, and the endless hours of preparation for the Chuunin exams took place right where he stood.

Watching her skills as a weapons expert grow, he always knew she wasn't just pretty, she was deadly too. Thinking back, he always trusted her. Now that he thought about it, he would never allow anyone else to do target practice with him being so close to the target.

Picking up his belongings, he too walked off into the inner village. Stopping once to glance back at the training ground-their training ground, he flashed one of his rare smiles. This place really was the place-their place.

A/N - So shortttt. But I needed to express my awakening of my love for NejiTen again. Hope you guys enjoyed the short read. Feedback is always awesome. ;)
