Brennan couldn't be happy about Booth offering Sweets their spare room.

Anthropologically, she understood it. Friends help friends out. Sweets was currently homeless. And while it had been his idea to break up with Daisy, he was also sad. And Booth wanted to help.

But there was something Booth didn't know.

For years she had been fighting an underlying attraction to the young psychologist.

She understood it was inappropriate. But there was something about his rail thin, goofy, video game playing, physique that just did it for her.

Booth was great in bed, of course. She was glad for that, but in her more indulgent moments she imagined what it would be like to have sex with Sweets.

And now he was under her roof and she was supposed to smile and pretend her heart (and her body) didn't want what she couldn't have.

It lasted 6 days before she broke.

Brennan couldn't sleep, and around 2AM decided to get up and do some work.

And there was Sweets, playing Mega Death Match 26 on the Xbox.

In his boxers.

And not much else.

Common sense was hard to come by.

"Sweets…" she couldn't catch her breath. He was so handsome.

"Dr. Brennan." He switched the game off and she wondered for a split second if maybe, just maybe, it was because he was more interested in her than the game.

"You are… a guest in our home. Please…call me Temperance."

Sweets took two steps towards her. "Maybe…but I just like Bones better."

She nodded. "Only Booth calls me that."

"I know."

"But…nicknames are signs of affection."

"Yes."

"Do you have affection for me…Lance?"

"Yes…very much."

"You shouldn't," she tried to rebuke him, but it sounded more hopeful than admonishing.

"I know."

She now took two steps towards him. "I have affection for you, too."

The dam broke.

Lips and limbs entangled, they fell to the couch and consummated their burning desire.

And fell asleep.

Where Booth found them the next morning.

"I see how it is." He started.

"Booth, I'm sorry, but…I've always loved him. Therapy was never about us…it was about giving me a reason to see Sweets. That's why I was always willing to go."

"And I made sure the bureau mandated it so I would have a reason to see Dr. Brennan." Sweets confessed.

"I am very wealthy. Wealthier than you by far. And Sweets has nowhere to live. I will buy you out and he and I will live here, together."

"That does free me up to go to Europe and be with Parker," mused Booth.

"A boy that age needs his father," prompted Sweets. "You should go."

"You can take Christine. Sweets and I can make more babies. He is very young and virile," suggested Brennan.

"Okay. You'll pay child support?" Booth asked.

"Sure."

"Great. I'll pack up, first thing."

"Thanks for being so understanding, Agent Booth" said Sweets.

"Who am I to stand in the way of true love?" Booth shrugged. "I'll take the first plane out."

And he did.

Sweets and Brennan became the best, most successful crime solving team in the FBI.

Booth lived in Europe, where he reunited with Hannah and screwed her up against every major European monument, since fig trees aren't that easy to find in large European cities.

Brennan joined Sweets' church and married him in a lavish ceremony in front of everyone they knew. They even invited Booth and Hannah, but they were so busy doing a European sex tour, they couldn't make it.

And they were all happy.

~The End~

.

This is my response to all the people who think Sweets is replacing Booth. In other words? No freaking way.
