A.N: A very short one shot of Klaroline. I don't know, I had the idea a few hours ago and I wanted to do a one shot. Especially involving my favorite couple in TVD. And using my favorite quotes from them. (The first quote is from the deleted scene of The Originals pilot episode.) So yeah, here. The italics mean Klaus' thoughts/memory.

I do not own The Vampire Diaries or Klaroline!

'Caroline, I'm standing in one of my favorite places in the world. Surrounded by food, music, arts, culture..and...all I can think about is how much I want to show it to you. Maybe one day, you'll let me.'

Everyone in New Orleans was crowding around for the Mardi Gras parade. The decorations were all set up beautifully and music played loudly. Klaus walked around, seeing people doing final touches on the decorations. It was, indeed, one of his favorite place in the world.

"Ah, Mardi Gras." a voice said. Klaus turns to look, "A celebration." Klaus gives out a light smile.

He only wished for one thing. A specific person that holds his heart. Caroline Forbes. He wished she was here with him. He intends to be her last. No matter how long it takes. He will wait. She was the only one that Klaus misses at Mystic Falls.

'But I'll let you in on a little secret: there's a whole world out there waiting for you. Great cities, and art, and music. Genuine beauty. And you could have all of it. You could have a thousand more birthdays, all you have to do is ask.'

Klaus walked inside the bar and made his way to the counter. He had ordered himself a drink and turned to lean on the counter and rest his elbows. He sees the majority of the females eyeing him. Though his mind was still thinking about the curly blonde hair sweetheart of his.

...'Isn't she stunning?'

'She certainly looks good walking away from you.'

'I'll take that as a challenge.' …

...'It's okay, it's okay, it's me, you're safe. We'll go save Elena, you go straight home, you stay inside. Do you understand?'

'Thank you.'...

Klaus stretched and finished his drink before leaving the bar. The parade was about to start and Klaus spots a store with a blue dress displayed.

...'I fancy you. Is that so hard to believe?'...

...'I know you're in love with me...And anybody capable of love is capable of being saved.' …

There was a loud cheer and the Mardi Gras parade started. There was camera flashes and applauses. Klaus watches as the parade pass. Children were giggling and some were on their father's shoulder. He was enjoying this. If only she was here...

Confetti's sprinkled everywhere and Klaus let out a smile as he watches them fall. He looks back to the parade and his heart raced a bit. Across the street, a blonde hair flows with the breeze and people were blocking. Klaus moves left and right to get a better view. His gaze was still focused across the street. The parade passes the area and the people started to move.

...'He's your first love. I intend to be your last, however long it takes.'...

People walked behind him, in front of him, on his sides, but he didn't let go of his gaze. It was still set across the street. Everything around him slowed down and the noise became faint. In his mind he thought he was hallucinating. But he knew it was real when, directly right across of him, Caroline Forbes let out a light smile. The same smile she had given him when he arrived at her graduation. He smiled back and they were finally together, in New Orleans.
