"Good Night, Night Vale, Good Night." Cecil said. He had to try hard not to sound too excited. He and his boyfriend, Carlos, planned on going on a date after Cecil's broadcast. He was so excited to be with his perfect Carlos again.

Carlos said he'd meet him in the car lot. Cecil almost ran there.

"Hello, Josie." He greeted the old woman once he got there.

"Oh, hello Cecil." She greeted with a small wave. Erika was holding her arm and helping her cross the street.

Cecil anxiously waited for his boyfriend.

"Hey, Cecil." Carlos greeted.

"Carlos!" Cecil said happily as he embraced him. He stroked his perfect hair. "I'm so glad to see you."

Carlos chuckled a bit. "Cecil, we see each other everyday, but you always act like you haven't seen me for years."

Cecil just made a happy noise as he put his head on Carlo's shoulder. They pulled back.

"So, you ready?" Carlos asked. He'd promised he'd cook for Cecil tonight, instead of eating out like they did on all their other dates. It was a chance for their relationship to become closer and more personal.

"Yes." Cecil said, tugging at Carlo's hair a bit.

The both of them went to Carlo's house.

"You can just sit on the couch, it'll only take a little bit to cook, alright?" Carlos asked.

"Alright." Cecil said, as he planted himself on the couch. Carlos went into the kitchen.

Cecil looked around. It was a nice place. He had some science equipment and awards. It was a simple place and-

Cecil's thoughts were distracted by a feeling in his gut. He had to pass gas.

Carlos is still in the kitchen. Now's a good time. Cecil thought to himself, slightly relived. However it was at that time Carlos came back.

He sat next to Cecil and wrapped his arms around him Cecil shifted uncomfortably.

I can't do this in front of Carlos. He might find it disgusting. Cecil thought nervously.

Carlos frowned when he felt Cecil's body stiffen. Usually when he hugged him he was more relaxed.

"What's wrong?" Carlos asked with a frown. He pulled back.

"N-nothing's wrong." Cecil said with slight pain in his voice.

"Cecil." Carlos sighed. "I know something's wrong."

"Don't worry, I'll be fine." Cecil said uncomfortably.

"Is something bothering you, dear?" Carlos asked.

"N-no."

"Then why are you acting so weird?" Carlos asked.

"I-" Cecil started. He was cut off, because he accidentally did it. His face turned red in embarrassment.

"What's wrong?" Carlos prompted again like that didn't happen.

"B-but...I just..you..you know." Cecil stammered.

Carlos frowned. "Is that what was wrong? Oh, Cecil. I don't care if you do that in front of me."

"Really?" Cecil asked.

Carlos nodded. He hugged him again. "I don't want to see you in pain, dear."

"And I wouldn't want to see you in pain." Cecil said. He kissed Carlos lightly on the cheek.

His boyfriend was perfect in every way.
