They were all sleeping, regaining strength. The next days would be hard. They needed to stop Pan and get Henry back at any cost.
David woke up in the middle of the night. He couldn't sleep. He was surprised the others could. Well, but Emma had almost died in the ship, she was tired. Hook... he didn't know what to think about Hook. The only thing David knew was that Hook was willing to help them. Why, he had no idea. Mary Margaret was not okay, she was tired of having someone she cares about, lost all the time. David knew that and wanted to help her, but he had no idea how.
He got up, trying not to wake up Mary Margaret, and decided to sit next to the bonfire. But before he could get there, he heard someone saying something. He looked around and saw it was Regina.
"What's happening?" he said, getting close to where she was
"Regina? Who are you talking to?"
But when he got closer, he realized she was still sleeping. She wasn't talking to anyone, she was having a nightmare.
She kept saying: "No, no! Don't do this! Please, don't! Please!" on and on. She was almost crying while saying that, and seemed to be trying to fee herself from something.
David started to shake her, trying to wake her up. "Regina, can you hear me? Wake up, Regina, wake up!"
After one minute she woke up. She sat down, heavy breathing, with David helping her and calming her down. "Are you okay?" he asked "You're shaking. Come on." He helped her up and took her near to the bonfire. He sat her down and got a bottle of water for her.
"You were having a nightmare. What was it?"
"it was nothing. I'm fine" she said
"You don't look fine. You're still shaking." "I'm fine." She said, staring at the bottle on her hands, blankly.
"It's okay. I won't tell anyone. I promise." he said, waiting for her to answer.
Regina sighed "It's... I've been having this dream for a few days. After... you know." "After Greg and Tamara..." "Yes."
They stopped talking for a minute.
"So... what happens on the dream?" David asked
"Do I really need to tell you?" "Yes. And it helps. Trust me. When I said we're family, I wasn't kidding, I was serious. "
She sighed again "Okay then. I keep remembering what happened that day. It's just that, but... It's not the best memory I have. I said it was nothing. Don't worry. It'll stop"
They stood a minute in silence.
"I'm sorry for what happened to you. It was... not nice." Regina agreed with her head.
"Do you feel better for telling me this?" "No. I feel embarrassed." "You don't have to. It's okay. Go back to sleep. I'll wake you if you have any nightmares again."
"I don't want to sleep. It's Henry. I'm worried. This just gonna make the nightmares worse."
"We'll get him back." David smiled to Regina, and she smiled back.
They stood talking by the bonfire for three hours or more. Then, they went back to sleep.
After this, Regina never had any more nightmares about that day, and David was able to sleep in Neverland.
