My first try at a lion guard fanfic. Set right after the episode "Lions Of The Outlands" Loved that episode. So read, review and enjoy!

Kion knew that he had to have a long talk with his father once he returned home to Pride Rock. After what had been a very rough day... Meeting Zira had been no piece of cake.

The other Guard members had already gone home, and Kion himself had just reached his. The lion cub padded through the grass over to Pride Rock, where at the top he saw his father sitting watching over their beloved kingdom. "I guess now is a good time to talk to him..." Kion muttered to himself. He made his way to the top of Priderock and spoke.

"Hey Dad,"

Simba smiled as he turned his head and saw his son. "Kion, I wasn't expecting you home this early... Are you alright?"

"No..." Kion answered honestly. He sighed as he sat down next to his father before looking up at him.

"Dad... The guard and I... Today we had a run in with... With the outsiders in the outlands. I now know Zira and her family... I know how awful they are and how they were loyal only to Scar," Kion said.

"YOU WHAT!? ARE YOU OKAY?!" Simba suddenly yelled. Panic was clear in the King's eyes. "Yes, yes I am fine. So is the rest of the Guard... I was just wondering why you never told me about Zira before?" Kion replied.

"Because... Because... I didn't want you to feel unsafe. You see after I had to banish Zira and her family... She swore revenge on me and said one day she and her pride would attack the Pride Lands," Simba explained.

"Oh... I see," Kion responded. "Well don't worry, Dad. I'm here I can always use the roar and send her and her family back to the outlands," Kion nodded.

"Very true. I suppose I never thought about that before," Simba said.

"Dad... I want you to know I'm not mad at you or anything... I just wanted to know why I wasn't told about Zira..." Kion added in.

"I'm glad to hear that but yes I understand. You must've had quite a day. I'm sorry about that," Simba replied.

"Thanks, Dad. Hey do you mind if I go to bed a little early tonight? I cannot tell you how tired I am," Kion chuckled.

"Of course, Kion. Go ahead," Simba responded. He leaned down and nuzzled his son. Kion nuzzled him back happily and smiled, before going into the cave and laying down. And before Kion knew it he was a asleep.
