So my prompt for this was "A Wonderful Surprise" or "A Dream Come True". I sort of made fun of it. XD There's a slight chance that I could continue it, but I don't really have any more ideas, and it seems fine as a one-shot, so don't get your hopes up.

"Inuyasha, wake up."
The half demon slowly blinked his eyes open. "What is it, Kagome?"
"I sense a jewel shard," she said urgently. "No, it can't be... It feels like almost the whole jewel!"
Inuyasha leapt to his feet, already half drawing Tessaiga. "Naraku," he growled.
"Yo," came an all too familiar voice.
Inuyasha froze. "Kagura? How come you're alive?"
"Huh? Why wouldn't I be?"
"I... we all saw you die. Naraku poisoned you with his miasma. You faded into the wind and everything."
"Are you feeling all right, Inuyasha?" Kagome asked worriedly, "we just saw Kagura yesterday. She was fine."
"Yeah Inuyasha," Shippo hopped onto Kagome's shoulder. "I remember she called you an incompetent fool."
"Shippo..." Inuyasha's eyebrow twitched.
"Hey, I'm just saying what she said."
"Ahem, I'm still here you know," Kagura sounded annoyed. "I'm not sure why you seem to think I'm dead, but I came here to give you this," she tossed them the near complete shikon jewel.
"What —? Kagome, tell me that's what I think it is."
Kagome's eyes were wide. "It is. It's Naraku's part of the jewel. I — Thank you, Kagura."
"Whatever. Just make sure Naraku doesn't get a hold of it."
"How the heck did you get it away from him in the first place?" Inuyasha asked in disbelief.
"That?" Kagura spun her fan around in her hand casually. "Kohaku and I tickled his feet with one of my feathers until he dropped it."
"Whaa—"
"Why did you choose to give it to us?" Kagome asked her. Inuyasha was starting to get freaked out. Was he the only one who was seeing some serious error in this logic?
Kagura tucked her fan into her sleeve. "Well, I already knew that Sesshomaru didn't want it, and I figured you could purify it with your miko powers or whatever."
Their conversation was interrupted when a small cyclone flew into sight and Koga skidded to a halt in front of them. "Hey, Kagome! I hope that muttface hasn't be— You," his voice suddenly seethed with hatred. "Back off everyone, the wind sorceress is mine."
"Get lost, Wolf!" Inuyasha reached for Tessaiga.
"Inuyasha, let me," Kagome said gently. "It's all right, Koga, Kagura's been trying to betray Naraku for a long time now. She's on our side."
"Hmph," Koga crossed his arms, still glaring at Kagura. "Whatever you say, Kagome, but don't expect me to be nice to her."
"Same here, Wolf Boy," Kagura said back to him.
"That was unexpectedly easy," Inuyasha muttered under his breath. "I would've expected them to fight to the death or something." A moment later he looked up, catching a familiar scent.
"Hi Kagura!" came Rin's cheerful voice from her place on Ah-Un's back, where she was following closely behind Sesshomaru and Jaken. The group came to a halt a short distance away from Miroku and Sango, who had somehow slept through the whole thing.
"Great," Inuyasha groaned. "Who's going to show up next? Moryomaru? Maybe we can all play a game or something stupid."
Kagome brightened. "That's a great idea, Inuyasha!"
"Didn't you say you brought some new games from your time?" Shippo asked as he bounced up and down excitedly.
Inuyasha just stared, feeling what was left of his faith in humanity drain into nothingness.
