Add-on/Drabble to dialogue from 5x04 "I spent 12 years putting you first, and the day I finally decided to do something for myself, you didn't just stop treating me like family, you started treating me like a stranger. And for your information, that is a thousand times worse than if you treated me like your enemy."

"I wanted to thank you."

"For what?"

"12 years."

It wasn't as if suddenly everything would go back to normal. The easy glances, engaging banter, and confrontations wouldn't just start up again. On the road to recovery, they were barely past that first speed bump.

She knew that, despite the fact that it had been 12 long years, years spent looking over the fact that there were many things left that needed to be overcome. Not just by him, but her as well.

He climbed the ladder, gaining status, respect, and everything that came along with it. Eventually making it to name partner. And what was she? She was his executive secretary, she managed everything for him, and it's true their friendship remained intact for the most part. Some people regret not going after something, because they lose it as soon as they got it. He got 12 years. He got 12 pretty damn good years.

Anyone else teared up at both of these scenes? I feel like Harvey is slowly, albeit VERY slowly coming to accept the fact that Donna did this for her, not in spite of him, or because of him, but FOR herself. For her own peace and mind. Reviews are greatly appreciated3
