A.N. This was written after Murder is forever.
He was snoring away oblivious to the eyes watching their every move.
She had been tossing and turning for hours trying to get the image of the lion's eyes following her out of her mind.
She had even tried keeping the lights off in their room while she got ready for bed. She had stumbled around in the darkness, the light from the moon peeking through the curtains her only source of light.
Of course the way the moon was angled tonight, it just happened to hit the painting right in the freaking things eyes, making him appear even more life like, even more intense than usual.
Growling with frustration she threw off the covers and made her way over to the closet.
Reaching up she grabbed a spare blanket off the top shelf.
Turning she made her way back over to the painting.
Standing on her toes, avoiding looking directly at its eyes, she stretched looping one corner of the blanket over the corner. Taking other end she hooked the rest of it up and over the top of the frame covering the painting completely.
Stepping back she clapped her hands together in victory, a huge smile lighting up her face.
She made her way back to the bed,but not before glancing back over her shoulder making sure the blanket was still intact.
Turning off the light she climbed over him onto his side of the bed, squeezing into the tiny space that was there.
Leaning up, she opened one eye taking one last peek over his shoulder.
Settling herself in,she let out a contented sigh.
Curling up behind him ,confident that he was blocking her from its view ,she finally drifted off to sleep.
