A/N - This is just a oneshot, and my first one at that. So if it's bad I am sorry

Disclaimer - I do not own anything, J.K. Rowling owns the land of Harry Potter and everything in it.

To an outsider, Sirius Black and Marlene McKinnon were not an affectionate couple.

In public, real affection was rare. They didn't hold hands, or cuddle, or even give each other a quick kiss when parting. Occasionally Sirius would throw his arm around her shoulders, or they would be caught in a battle of tongues. In the Gryffindor Common Room, you could have seen Sirius' head in Marlene's lap as they lay on one of the sofas. If you were lucky, you may have seen them wink at the other. But that was only on a special occasion.

When they were with their best friends, it was a slightly different story.

In the Head's Common Room that Lily and James shared, when it was a combination of James, Lily, Remus and Peter with them, they were more like a 'normal' couple. Marlene would snuggle into Sirius' side, and Sirius would hold one of her hands and play with it. He would kiss the top of her head, and she would kiss his cheek.

But it was when it was just the two of them they would show the most affection. When they would hold each other in their arms, and shower each other wit both kisses and compliments alike. When they would smile at each other in a way no one but them would ever see, and get lost in each others eyes. It was then when they would admit their true feelings.

Lying under a tree on the outskirts of the Forbidden Forest, hidden from everyone else's view, fingers entwined and smiling at each other like they would never admit was when they were brave enough to say it for the first time.

"I love you Marly." Sirius said plainly, not breaking eye contact with the blonde lying next to him.

"I love you too." Marlene replied, her smile growing just a little bit, her hand squeezing his.

To an outsider Sirius Black and Marlene McKinnon were not an affectionate couple. When they were alone though, there was nothing that could tear them apart.

A/N - Please review! Like I said it's my first one so I'd love to know what you thought.
