AN: When I was looking for my copy of The Time Traveler's Wife while waiting for Stargate to begin I found a couple of finished fics on my bedroom floor. So I'd thought I'd post them in honour of my return to the brilliance that is the internet.
Very short. Tony's POV. Post-Twilight.

You're everywhere.
The lady sitting behind me in the movies has your laugh. The person in front of me in the line at the Post Office has your mannerisms. The lady with the dark hair who squeezes past me on a busy sidewalk uses the same shampoo that you do. Someone is handing out samples of your perfume at the mall. The mother scolding her child in the supermarket sounds so much like you that I do a double take. You're everywhere and nowhere.
I've figured it out. This is all a joke, right? It's like the longest, lamest episode of Punk'd ever. Tomorrow when I get to work you'll be sitting at your desk doing paperwork, or on the phone, and then you'll give me your "what the hell is wrong with you?" look and I'll say something, then you'll reply with something sarcastic, and I'll say something in return and Gibbs will slap the back of my head and everything will go back to the way it used to be. The way it should be.
I have your desk, by the way. Abby said she couldn't bear anyone else sitting at your desk, so her, McGee and me swapped yours with mine. You can't tell the difference, but it made Abby feel better. She misses you. When you get back we change them back, if you want. I doubt you care, though. "It's just a desk, Tony." You'll say in your "You're an idiot" voice. "It's not even my desk; it belongs to NCIS, anyway." You'll point out. You're too practical for your own good, Katie.
I know, even to me I sound slightly crazy, but I know the truth; you're not dead.
You can't be.

AN: Short, ain't it? The companion, Desks, is a bit longer, so go read that, but review this first.
Oh, yer, I don't own NCIS, or any of its characters. If I did, do you really think I'd be up at two listening to Something for Kate and half-watching a muted episode of Passions?
