The calm waves of Long Island Sound mimicked the steady heartbeat of their master, Percy Jackson as he walked alongside his beautiful girlfriend Annabeth Chase. Everything was over now. Gaea was put back to sleep, the Gods reopened Olympus, the Greek and Roman camps were combined, but they still can't un-see the horrors they've both were grateful for the quiet moments they were able to steal because nothing had ever been the same since the words, "As long as we're together." They developed a love stronger than anything you could imagine. All they had was each other now.
They still laugh and talk like they used to but they were inseparable now. Every now and then a restless demigod would catch one of them sneaking into each other's cabin when they had nightmares about that place. The war had taken it's toll on the rest of the seven but they didn't go through the living birthplace of all things evil and corrupt. They'll get through it, together of course. Maybe one day they'll all be able to see things the way they used too, with beauty and color.
Percy and Annabeth were currently walking through the sand, hand in hand with their bodies pressed close. They found a nice spot on the beach to sit, so they rested as Annabeth laid her head back against Percy's chest. She had a crush on him since they went on the quest when they were 12. She had ended up with him, and not that she was complaining but she still had the thought of Luke in her head before anything was official. And Percy, the definition of whipped. He had the mutual undying love or her that couldn't be properly expressed through words. They laid together in a comfortable silence until it was broken by Percy.
"Wise Girl, do you honestly think we'll ever be the same?" he asked her timidly, his voice a bit above a whisper.
"Of course I do, Seaweed Brain. It's gonna be okay as-"
"As long as we're together. And we'll stay together, I promise. I love you more than anything and I'll spend the rest of my life trying to keep you happy and safe." he interrupted.
"Percy, what are you-" she cut herself as he knelt down in front of her.
"I love you Annabeth Chase, and there is no denying it. When I'm with you, the memory doesn't even exist because you're all I'm ever thinking about. Look, what I'm asking you is, Annabeth Chase, will you marry me.?" He asked with glints of hope and love in his eyes. He pulled out a beautiful ring with 5 stones. Two sapphires on the outsides, two diamonds on the inside, and the bigger diamond in the middle. Annabeth couldn't believe what was happening to her. The love of her life was asking for her hand.
"Percy," she hesitantly whisper. "Of course I will!" Percy slid the ring on her finger and embraced his girlfri- no, fiancé. He kissed her lightly and spoke,
"I love you, Wise Girl" "I love you more, Seaweed Brain."
"Impossible."
