Sarahlyn Carter POV
It was cold, freezing actually and I had nowhere to go. I had nowhere to go with a six year old child. All I had was a beat-up, red 1965 Ford Mustang that used to be my daddy's. And all I had inside of that was a trunk load full of guns and ammo.
I looked at my wristwatch and saw it was nearing midnight. Maybe Bobby would still be up, hopefully. I needed help and I had nobody to turn to. Rubbing sleep from my eyes I looked in the dashboard mirror and saw the sleeping body of my little girl. My little girl, Isabella, Lissie as I called her.
She was sprawled across the backseat entangled in my mama's old quilt. That was one of the only things I had left from my childhood. It still smelled like mama; still smelled like roses and lemons.
I pushed the gas pedal down further as I sped toward Bobby Singer's house.
I had known Bobby since mama and daddy disappeared in 1989. After they vanished I was put through the foster care system, moving from home to home. Through it all I kept in touch with Bobby as much as I could right until after Lissie was born. Right after the demon attacks started. I had cut off all contacts, to keep my daughter safe.
The attacks had been getting worse, when I thought I had held them off for a while they found us and I had to run again.
Pulling into Bobby's driveway gave me a sense of relief, at least I knew we were somewhat safe here, for now. I saw the porch light was on as I slowed the car to a stop.
I got out the driver's side, opened the back side door and gently shook Lissie awake, "Come on, sweetie we're here."
Lissie sat up slowly rubbing her eyes and yawning. Her long, wavy, chestnut hair fell into her eyes as she asked, "Where are we mama?"
"We're at a friend's house. We're safe, for now. Come on now." I picked her up in my arms and carried her like a toddler to the back door.
I prayed Bobby didn't pull his shotgun out, he wasn't too kind of late night visitors. I knocked four times before the door opened and I heard, "Somebody better be dead or-." Bobby stopped mid-sentence as he saw who I was. "Sarahlyn?"
"Hey Bobby," I smiled. "It's been awhile. Mind if I come in?" I motioned to Lissie, "She's kinda heavy."
10 minutes later
Bobby's kitchen
I pulled an old blanket over my sleeping daughter when I saw Bobby watching me from the doorway. I spoke without taking my eyes off of her, "She's six years old Bobby and all of her life she's been running. I've drug her from place to place. She's never had a home. I've practically gave her the same life I had. But I had to protect her Bobby. The damn demons won't stop coming after her. I swear day by day they get closer and closer to her. I don't know why they want my girl. I don't know, I just want to keep her safe." I turned and saw Bobby, his face staring at mine, "Can we stay here for a few days?"
He nodded, "You know not to ask Sarah. You two are safe here." I was glad Bobby wasn't the type to ask questions. I didn't feel like answering them. "Get some sleep, you look like crap."
I gave him a half-smile, "Thanks. Good night Bobby, good to see you again."
Before climbing up the stairs to his room Bobby nodded, "Good to see you to Sarah."
Hey guys! Okay so this part basically gives you some background. I know it is kind of sketchy but you will understand more as the story progresses! I hope this chapter wasn't too bad. LOL. Reviews are good but not enforced(:
