"Mom! Mom!" Sasuke cried, tugging on his weathered winter coat and bouncing on the balls of his feet. "It's a snow day!"

"Yes dear," his mother said, smiling gently.

"Can I go out, please?" Sasuke pleaded.

"Yes dear," his mother repeated, chuckling at her youngest son's excitement.

"Thanks!" Sasuke shouted over his shoulder as he flew out the door. He trampled through the treacherous front yard, slipping and sliding over patches of ice and falling into the soft snow. Sasuke giggled, his cheeks rosy from the cold. He took off with a running start down the path to his front porch, plowing through drifts of snow and finally crashing into a buried leaf pile. Sasuke laughed, tunneling through the fluffy white powdered sugar to the surface. "Brrr," he said, shivering.

Taking another look around, it dawned on Sasuke that the place that he'd surfaced in wasn't his front yard. He peered around, suddenly feeling very small and out of place. He wanted to call for his brother for help, he usually came whenever Sasuke needed him, but was too proud to show such a display of weakness to Itachi.

A crystal snowflake fluttered down from the sky, landing on Sasuke's nose. He blinked, a tear slipping out from between his eyelids. He didn't know where he was, or even how to get back home. A flurry of snow blew past him, blurring his vision and hiding any chance of him returning. "Who's there?" a soprano voice asked from behind Sasuke.

"Mom?" Sasuke asked, sniffling and wiping a tear from his cheek.

"No, silly!" the voice laughed lightly.

"Are you going to take me home?" Sasuke whimpered.

"Oh, you're lost!" the voice said in disbelief.

"No," Sasuke said quickly, trying to cover up his mistake, "I'd never get lost!"

"Come on!"

There was a gentle tugging on Sasuke's hand, leading him back into the drifts of snow. He squinted, trying to make out who was his savior. The only thing that he could see was the slight form of a fellow child bundled up in a dark cloak, their scarf flowing behind them. A hat concealed their hair, which only stuck out from the very bottom. Sasuke shivered, finally feeling the icy cold of the winter winds. "Don't be afraid," the child comforted him, turning their head and gazing at him with bright emerald eyes. "You'll be home soon."

Sasuke nodded, his brain sifting through names that could identify the mysterious person. None came to mind, however, so Sasuke did what he thought was best: just keep on walking.

His foot tapped a stair, causing him to jump involuntarily. "Go on," the green-eyed child gave him a small push. "You're home now."

"Thank you," Sasuke said gratefully.

The child began trekking back through the flurries, soon disappearing into the painting of white. "Goodbye," Sasuke whispered.
