I had to write this for an English common test, so I thought I would post it on here.

Hope you enjoy it!

I lay there half awake, full of mud. I was in so much pain. For once I was happy I was a baker, it made me good at camouflaging myself.

I could hear the sound of the lake, it had a soft sound; like soft raindrops hitting the earth.

I was cold and wet and was in so much pain. What happened? You ask. I was stabbed in the leg, trying to protect the girl I love.

She had been stung by the mutated wasps. I can't remember their name, don't really care either.

As she started to run the careers came back, they put two and two together and stabbed me, leaving me for dead. Who knew they were that smart.

I knew that I had to move from where I was, just in case they came back. So I stumbled through the thick trees and undergrowth. It felt like being in a dark never-ending tunnel.

When I found the lake I was so happy. I fell onto my knees and started to drink. The water was so refreshing, but now my leg hurt even more.

It felt like someone had strapped a hot piece of metal to my leg and tied my hands up so I couldn't get it off.

Other than the fact that I was in so much pain, I also felt dizzy. Knowing I couldn't just give into my urges and sleep, I started to cover myself. I used anything around me mud, twigs, and leaves, moss, anything. I was becoming part of the environment.

Then I heard the announcement it was music to my ears; like angels singing. There is a chance, there is a chance! Repeated over and over again in my mind. We both could live, we both could survive!

As I was still contemplating this I felt someone nearly step on my head. It was her, the girl I loved. I spoke and she looked at me with her lovely eyes. They were hard and steely, yet soft and kind at the same time. Like the sign of Yin and Yang, both black and white.

She was so caring when looking after me. The pain was still there, but some of it had left just knowing she was beside me and safe. Well as safe as you could get in the Hunger Games.

Well that's it, constructive criticism is welcome!
