Prologue

"Heh, are you ready, Jinxshadow," a silver tom meowed and crouched. Jinxshadow smiled and crouched next to him. "Ready when you are, Frozenpuddle" he hissed playfully. "I'm going to beat the both of you," a brown, long-haired, tom taunted. "Go!" yowled a pretty light grey she-cat. The three toms bolted forward and raced off towards the river that ran through the territory of WaterClan. Soon only Jinxshadow and Frozenpuddle were neck in neck with each other, both seeing the river ahead.

Jinxshadow saw the other tom, Snarepit, leap ahead of him. "Hey that's cheating!" Frozenpuddle yowled and raced on fast, not wanting to be out done. Jinxshadow rolled his eyes and heard a cry. He skidded to a stop and looked back. He heard it again, this time it was not as loud. He frowned and stalked forward into the undergrowth. Jinxshadow pushed through the bushes and stared in horror at a blood soaked body. He stepped closer, realizing it was Delilah's sister, Angel.

He blinked and sniffed the air, finding the scent of her killing which made his blood chill at the thought. Jinxshadow heard a yowl and a body slam into him. He looked up and saw Snarepit on top of him. "You," he growled in disbelief. Snarepit grinned and yowled, "Angel's been murdered!"

Snarepit leaped off of Jinxshadow as the members of WaterClan rushed through the bushes. Jinxshadow's fur bristled as his clanmates were all shocked by the sight. He heard a mournful yowl above all the questions. Delilah stepped forward, her eyes filled with sorrow. "Delilah, I…I didn't," he meowed, stepping towards his friend. Delilah flattened her ears and spun around to face Jinxshadow, her eyes blazing.

She flashed out her paw and scored her claws across his cheek. Jinxshadow laid his ears back and stepped back. More of his clan members stepped forward, ears flat, teeth bared and fur bristled. He looked at each of his members knowing they all thought that he was responsible for this death.

He looked for any way to escape but felt his clan upon him. They began to push him forward and back towards the camp. He followed them with no other choice.
