Sunny days and cool nights for the week. At least that's what the weatherman had promised but the rattling window said otherwise.

Nai clenched his hands on either side of his head when a booming rumble exploited his sensitive ears. The rain was hitting the glass so hard Nai thought it would leave dents. For once, he hated sleeping next to window.

Loosening his grip on the ear, he eyed the clock lazily. It was one a.m…. he was sleep deprived because of the freak storm and the frightening shadows that followed. Gareki on the other hand looked at peace. He was turned away from window, his back rising and falling with each breath.

Nai got up from his bed and walked across the room, stopping half way when an electric blue crackled in the air. Slowly, taking care not to anger any of the odd shadows flickering on the floor, he made his way to Gareki's bed.

He poked gently at his roommate's shoulder. After making sure that he was in a deep slumber, the little boy desperately pushed Gareki towards the wall with all his might. It was a struggle indeed but the extra space was worth it.

Slowly, he slipped a foot under the warm quilts, then another, then his hand and the rest of his body. He froze when Gareki turned so that his chest was aligned with Nai's back. The onyx haired boy mumbled something before nuzzling his nose in the Niji's purple tufts. It tickled, it really did. And when he breathed out onto his scalp, Nai let out a fit of giggles.

This time Gareki's mumble was coherent and thick, "Nai…" Then jumped back, nearly hitting his head on the wall, "Nai! What are you doing? Go back to bed!"

The niji looked around the dark room nervously; he could still make out Gareki's furious eyes. "G-gareki, I'm next to the window… so…" at the horrendous sound of skies ripping, he rammed into Gareki's chest, "a-and the n-noises…"

Gareki winced when Nai's finger's clawed into his back, crushed him closer to the quivering niji. "Let's switch beds then."

He tried pulling he niji away but the grip only tightened, "No!"

"What are you saying!"

"There all these w-weird shadows…"

"There just shadows!" Gareki growled.

Nai pulled his head out of Gareki's chest and looked up. It took a few moments for the Onyx haired teen to realize that Nai's crimson eyes were on the verge of tears.

"Ok! Fine, you can stay!" He pulled away from Nai's grip and lay down on his back.

Moments later something tickled his stomach. He pulled the sheets up and nearly screamed when Nai's head emerged.

"What the hell!"

The niji sat up on Gareki, both thighs cushioning either side of the teen's waist. "Um… I just.. it's… warm-warmer…." Gareki watched nervously as Nai lay his head above his heart, one hand resting on his right chest. "I can hear… it… beating…" he murmured.

Gareki wasn't the sort to comfort others because he didn't know how. Really, this was Yogi's forte! But cautiously, he placed a hand on the niji's head, running his fingers though the soft mass. The actions were returned with a gratifying nuzzle. His face burned with a strong blush, but he didn't dare pull away his hand. Instead, he pulled the blankets up and drifted into a peaceful slumber, Nai's soft breaths almost a lullaby.
