To Be Loved

A Sad Day

"Ginny, listen…" Harry said very quietly as people got to their feet, "I can't be involved with you anymore. We've got to stop seeing each other."

"Let me guess," she said with an oddly twisted smile, "It's for some stupid noble reason, isn't it?"

"It's just…Voldemort uses people his enemies are close to. He could try to get me through you again."

Ginny burst out fiercely, "What if I don't care?"

"I care," said Harry. "How do you think I'd feel if this was your funeral?"

She looked away, over towards the lake. Then she turned back smiling, "Then we'll just have to take the risk." She pulled Harry down and kissed him. Harry smiled, and then deepened the kiss.

When they were finished, they started to walk up to the castle. On the way they passed Ron and Hermione. Ron was holding her in his arms and was stroking her hair while she cried into his shoulder. Ron looked up at Harry and wiped the tears from his nose. Harry nodded and kept walking up to the castle, arm-in-arm with Ginny.

"Harry!" A new voice called. Harry turned about and caught sight of Rufus Scrimgeor, who was walking towards them. "Might I have a word with you?" He then asked.

Harry looked at him, "Sorry sir, but I have more important things than being the Ministry's poster boy and telling Dumbledore's secrets. That's the way it's going to stay."

"But Harry-"

"No means no, Minister." With that Harry led Ginny into the castle.

After they were inside Ginny turned to Harry and said, "Harry, you know you can't say things like that to the Minister of Magic. You could get in trouble."

"So? He'll just keep pestering me with questions he knows I won't answer. Plus I think that shut him up for a while," Harry said frowning. People around them were all puffy-eyed and were returning to their House common rooms. "C'mon, lets get back up to the common room."

Harry started towards the grand staircase but Ginny held him back, "This way, Harry. I've got something that might cheer you up." She then led him up a series of stairs and corridors before ending up at the Room of Requirement. She open the door led Harry in and locked it making sure that know one could come in.

"Why did we come here?" Harry asked.

"Shhhh," Ginny said, putting a finger on his lips. She then replaced her finger with her lips. Harry kissed back. As they continued to kiss, Ginny pulled Harry's robe off and started to unbutton his shirt. He got the idea and pulled her robe off, too.

After she stopped crying, Hermione wiped the tears from her face. She kept hugging Ron. She felt that if she let go, she would fall. Ron kept holding on too. Hermione looked up into his eyes and he looked back. Then he did something he never thought he'd do before. He bent down and kissed Hermione. He let up only to be pulled back in. Ron broke the kiss and stood up still holding Hermione.

"I know somewhere where we could be alone," Ron said. "How about the Room of Requirement?"

"Very romantic Ron," Hermione retorted.

"Trust me no one will be there," Ron stated as he started up the many stairways to the Room still carrying Hermione.
