At the end of a bust shift, Grissom, Sara and Greg found themselves sitting in the break room, a cup of coffee in their hands. It was easy to tell they were drawing close to Halloween. They had just solved a murder, which seemed to stem from the struggle for territory between 'Vampires'.
It was why Grissom just loved this time of year.
"So, what do you guys think?" Greg asked, like an excited child, his eyes lit up.
"A Halloween Party. Where we dress up?" Sara asked, not so much surprised that Greg would suggest such a thing.
Greg sat forward, nodding enthusiastically. "Yeah. Come on, it'll be fun. You two never come out with us. And we haven't had a team get together in quite some time. It'll be a great way to spend Halloween."
Grissom couldn't help but smile, shaking his head as he brought the mug of coffee to his lips, sipping slowly.
Sara pursed her lips, turning her head to Grissom, that mischievous glint in her eyes that Grissom sometimes feared to see. "Well, Grissom, what do you think? What would you dress up as?" She asked, cocking her head slightly to the side, smirking still.
Grissom narrowed his eyes ever so slightly as he watched her. He thought about it for a moment, before shaking his head. "I do not dress up." He said simply, setting his coffee back down on the table, his eyes set on Sara.
Greg looked between the two, an eyebrow arched. "Well, Sara, what would you dress up as?" He asked, genuinely curious.
Sara pulled her eyes away from Grissom, to look at Greg as she considered his question. "Well, you know... I have always wanted to be a nurse." She said with a wink, her eyes flickering to a now wide-eyed Grissom, who cleared his throat right at that moment.
"Mmm..." Greg trailed off, but Sara snapped her fingers. "Sorry, back in the room." He said playfully.
"Now, Greggo, your turn." Sara directed the question to Greg, but he simply shrugged his shoulders.
"I'm more of a trick guy, than treats."
"Oh really?" Sara asked, smirking. She looked to Grissom and winked, before turning her attention back to Greg.
He knew she was up to something, and she wanted him to play along.
"Well, Greg... You know, I think I might take you up on your offer, to go out. As long as you dress up as my patient." She said innocently, batting her eyelashes.
Greg stared at Sara, his mouth open, "You really mean that?" He asked his voice a little higher pitched than it usually is.
Sara nodded, smiling still. "Yes, I really mean it."
Once the words had left her mouth, Greg was out of his seat and heading towards the door, mumbling something about having to get a costume.
Once he was out of earshot, Sara couldn't control the fit of laughter she took. Grissom had an amused smile on his lips, shaking his head. "You are bad, Sara."
"Don't you love it, Gil?" She said once she had recovered from her laughter. "So, what are you then? Trick or treat?"
He matched her smirk, "Oh, I am most definitely treat." He said with a wink.
"I thought you might be." Sara replied simply, knowing that would be his answer.
"And actually... I'm feeling a little run down... I could really use the attention from a very beautiful nurse." He said, raising an eyebrow suggestively.
Sara bit her lower lip softly, smirking. "Mow that you mention it, you are looking a little tired. Pale too." She said as she stood up, Grissom following suit.
"Let's go home, Mrs. Grissom." Grissom said with a smile, knowing they probably wouldn't make it very far into the house.
