I threw this together to have something to dedicate to Paul. It's really short, but I just wanted to sum up what Brian did for Letty.

"They told me what you did." Comes a voice from the doorway.

Brian turns from his spot on the bed to see Letty leaning against the doorframe, thumbs hooked into the belt loops of her skinny jeans. His eyes widen slightly, as Letty is still just as intimidating as ever and he isn't sure what she's talking about.

"What did I do?" He asks, confused.

"You went to find Braga in prison." She states simply.

"Oh." Brian chuckles, relieved. "Yeah, I had to find out what happened to you. That was my way."

Letty huffs. "Well, it was a stupid way."

Brian laughs, expecting that she would say that. "Was it?"

"He could have killed you, Brian." Letty says quietly.

Brian shakes his head, standing from the bed. "No. That wouldn't have happened. There was too much at stake, I was too angry with him for taking you away! I was supposed to protect you, Letty. I made that promise to myself, I made that promise to Dom even though he wasn't aware of it." Brian paused and swallowed hard, his eyes meeting hers. "And I made that promise to you. It killed me that I couldn't keep it."

Letty pushes herself away from the doorway, approaching Brian. "What happened to me, was not your fault. There was no way you could have known."

"I should have asked for more evidence! I shouldn't have been so quick to believe. If I had just pushed, this whole Owen thing could have been avoided."

"You don't know that." She says sternly. "And you've got to stop blaming yourself, Brian. It happened, but I'm here now."

Brian drops his head. "I tried to stop Dom from finding you. He came to me with that picture and hope in his eyes even when I told him Hobbs was screwing with him, that you were dead. If he had listened to me-"

"But he didn't." She cuts him off. "Stop trying to find a reason to feel guilty, Brian. I don't blame you for anything."

"They're just reasons for me confronting Braga. I had to do something right for you, Letty. After everything I had done wrong, that was my chance."

Letty smiles and punches him lightly on the shoulder. "I didn't know you cared that much about me, O'Connor." She says teasingly.

Brian returns her smile. "You're family, Let. Even though you scare the shit out of me half the time." He laughs.

His laugh is cut short as Letty steps forward and throws her arms around him. He smiles and returns the embrace.

"Thank you, Brian. For what you did. It was brave of you and I appreciate it, I really do. You're a good man, Brian O'Connor. Don't ever forget that, okay?" She places a quick kiss on his cheek, flashing him one last smile as she leaves the room.

Brian smiles to himself, feeling the weight lifted off of his shoulders. He did what he could to make the things he had done wrong right, and he was a damned good man for it.
