This is a one-shot that just came to me. I am a die-hard SparrowBeth shipper, and therefore can mock one William Turner. Will/Lizzy shipper's will NOT like this story, so don't read. Review's welcome!
Disclaimer: I don't own Pirates. If I did, there would be more Jack and Lizzy, more Rum, and less Will. It's really a pity I don't own it.
Jack turned on the deck to review his men, his jacket giving a flamboyant billow in the wind. Each of his men stood before their captain, and behind them, Will Turner sat on a barrel, watching the proceedings. Jack swaggered down the line of able seamen, making a mental note of those that seemed to be near the grave, and those who didn't look like the living dead.
"Men, hold arms!"
Jack peered over his shoulder to see a row of dirty hands and tattered shirt sleeves thrust into the air.
"No, not that sort of arms. Your guns."
A sudden sound of metal being pulled from resting positions met his efforts.
Jack walked back down the line and stood beside Mr. Gibbs.
"Good, now, we'll have an exercise with said guns."
He gave a slight nod to emphasize his authority on the matter.
"Guns at ready . . . steady . . . fire at will!"
Twenty-five guns swivelled in an 80 turn while twenty-five triggers were pulled. The only thing remaining of Mr. Turner was a scorched hole where his seat, a keg of gunpowder, had been.
Jack stared at the hole and curled his lip. "Not quite what I was hoping for, but well done anyway . . . now what to say to Elizabeth."
"You might suggest that he died valiantly saving someone's life."
Jack gave Mr. Gibbs a look that could have curdled milk.
"Yes, well, in any case, she's young, she'll get over . . . hopefully."
Jack's intuition of the female psyche told him that Elizabeth was angry when he told her what had happened, that, and the fact that she was holding a pistol to his chest helped. Elizabeth was sad, but instead decided to settle for second-best. Jack Sparrow soon became known as having a very short leash, and truth be told, he really didn't mind. Elizabeth and Jack had three children; two girls, Pearl and Louisiana, and a boy, one William Barbossa Sparrow.
