I hope you enjoy! Please review if you read this.
A smile crossed, her lips. As the bay horse beneath thundered forward. Seeing the scarlet ribbon unbroken; caused her to heart pound, deep in her chest. They were ahead! She spurred her horse forward, giving him his head. As they charged, the final stretch.
'We won!' she thought as they broke threw the finish line.
Bring her mount down to a trot, she turned horse to face the roaring campers. The whole camp was cheering; even those who weren't in her cabin. Mr. D was looking slightly amused. That a daughter of Aphrodite, had bested thirteen other horsemen and women.
" Heroes," Chiron began, " We have our victor, Silena head consular of Aphrodite. You have won the race. Well done."
With that, the camp went wild. Calling out her name, waving and screaming. Every demigod came to congratulate her. Her cabin cheered louder and longer, then rest of the camp. Pride welled in their hearts, they had never won a competition before.
After the rest of spectators had spoken their congratulations. Silena walked her horse to the stable. Leading him into the barn she couldn't help but laugh. She had shocked the whole camp, by choosing an older horse to race. Even Chiron himself, suggested that she use a younger mount. Really, she couldn't blame them. Rocky was fifteenth years old;and he wasn't the most well breed horse,on the planet. But he was her horse, the horse she had ridden every day for years.
"You're such a good boy, Rocky. You won out there." she murmured into the horse's ear, as she began to brush him down.
Carefully, she wrapped his legs, knowing his legs weren't as young as they once were. Taking on an older horse meant loads more work. But for Rocky, Silena would cut off her arms. Her eyes scanned him, Searching for anything she missed. When he had passed her inspection, she lead him to his stall. After feeding him a small bucket of oats, and few apples. Her work tonight was done. Latching the door shut, she slipped out of the barn. Into the black of night, she stopped for a moment, to gaze at the heavens. The sliver moon was rising, as she began her walk back to her cabin.
" You were awesome, tonight." A familiar voice called out from behind her.
" Thanks, Charlie." She replied, her face burning red.
" May I walk you to your cabin?" The welder asked
" You may," she replied heart fluttering; trying not to let him know, just how much this really meant to her.
These was my idea on how Charlie and Silena fell in love. I had this idea today, while thinking of summer camp. I hope you enjoyed this story and I will be doing more. As always please review, review, review.
