A/N: A small drabble on how Glinda must have felt when Elphaba had just died, please review. Should I continue?
Scattered Glass
Glinda woke up and felt a sudden pain, as if a shard of glass had pierced her breaking heart. She had opened her eyes with such a start; she wouldn't have been able to explain as a panic clouded her thoughts. She had no idea why she was reacted the she did. Only that she felt like a hole had just been blown into the middle of her chest, and that an indescribable pain had taken hold of her senses, causing her thoughts to confusion.
The last time she had felt this way was when Elphaba had left her, however this time, she'd never felt so lost, as if the reason for hope had been wiped away.
She cried that night in fear. All these feels swirled in her and if you were to ask her why, she wouldn't have been able to answer. However much later, when she had discovered why, those feeling only seemed to worsen unbearably.
There are things people cling onto, a hope, a dream, and sometimes, just sometimes, these things can end you in a way you never expected. It is because of this that Glinda cried out and caused a scene, because even a woman of proper breeding can feel betrayal and terror. That night she had acted in such a hopeless manner because she didn't know any better, without her Elphie. What was she meant to cling on to now? Now that she was alone.
