"Fiyero!" Glinda shouted in shock, staring as he ran off, after her, off to get Elphaba. She took a deep breath, attempting to ignore the Wizard and Madame Morrible speaking behind her. This witch hunt had gone on for much too long and the blonde was sick of it.

"We'll just have to flush her out, " Madame Morrible said simply. "The question is, what can we use to get to her."

"Her sister, "The blonde said softly, still staring straight ahead, at the spot Fiyero had disappeared from.

"What was that dear?" The older woman asked.

Glinda turned to face them, taking a deep breatgh. "Her sister. Spread a rumor that something happened to Nessarose, she'll come to her sister's aid." She looked from the Wizard to Madame Morrible, seeing the looks on their faces, the plans forming in their heads, and felt a pang of guilt inside, but ignored it. "If you'll excuse me, I have a headache and would like to go lie down," She said, sweeping past them and down the corridor.

She smiled and gave her thanks to the Ozians who stopped her to congratulate her on the way, telling them that she'd pass their congratulations on to Fiyero, whom she said had to go handle an incident with the witch. She headed up the stairs when she'd finally made her way through the crowded ballroom and to the main entrance hall, making her way up to her room.

She locked the door behind herself, and fell to the floor by the window, tears filling her eyes. She couldn't decide if she felt the same way about him she had years ago when he'd first arrived at Shiz, but they were to be married, and Elphie just swept in and stole him from her. Why would her best friend do that to her?

Why would Fiyero do that to her? If he didn't love her, if he didn't want to marry her, why didn't he just tell her? Didn't he think that it would cause her pain running off with no explanation like he had. Had he even though about her at all?

She bit her lip lightly as the tears rolled down her pale cheeks, and looked out the window. The stars twinkled brightly from above that night and she had a clear view of so much the Emerald City and the land surrounding it. She looked down at the outlines of the beautiful buildings, named those that were familiar in her head, imagining she knew where they were, what they were doing now.

She stayed there, simply staring at the city for several minutes, then reached up to wipe the tears from her eyes. "I hope you're happy Fiyero, wherever you two are, I hope you're happy," she whispered, before standing and climbing into bed, hoping things would be clearer in the morning.
