Sakura gazed at the night sky, a frown across her lips. The moon's pale glow lighted her skin and shined through her pale cherry hair. A whisper of a breeze rustled through the trees of Konoha, and black dots danced in front of her eyes.
"Damn…" she cursed, grasping the railing of the bridge, leaning in on her elbows. Her green eyes shot to the water flowing under the small bridge. The moonlight reflected in her eyes, and the glow of the water shone on her face. Her lips formed into a relaxed pout, and she felt beautiful. Fragile; like porcelain.
Another one of the night's cool breezes whistled in her ear, and the many silk layers of her red kimono danced in the wind.
'Her hands look so soft…so touchable,' the boy thought. He himself looked very handsome wearing a navy blue yukata with an orange obi, but he couldn't keep his cerulean eyes off of the girl on the bridge.
"When are you gonna get off the bridge, idiot?" he snapped at himself. Sakura sighed and gently loosened her grip on the fan she held in her hand.
'Doesn't matter…he isn't coming anyways. What's the point of waiting with a gift?' she thought as she slid her body down the rails of the bridge. She folded her knees and sat with her hands grasping the rails, her teal eyes nervously glancing back and forth across the water.
"S-sakura…?" Sakura turned around, seeing Naruto standing above her. He had a worried look on his face, and he looked pained almost. "You look sad…" he whispered.
Sakura was speechless. She had been waiting the whole time for Sasuke, so why did she feel so relieved when it wasn't him?
"Naruto…" she whispered, gazing into his azure eyes. He sat down next to her and placed his hand on the rail over hers, his strong gaze never leaving hers. For a moment, time stopped as the sat there looking at each other.
'She's so beautiful,' Naruto thought. He gently shut his eyes, as did she and brushed his lips across her cheek. A moment of anticipation, and he finally pressed his warm lips onto hers.
A tingling sensation filled Sakura's body, and she returned the kiss. Their lips finally parted, and Naruto's eyes were filled with curiosity.
"You look amazing, Sakura. So beautiful," he whispered, still wondering if what he did was right. Sakura shut her eyes and smiled, feeling the blood rush into her cheeks.
"As do you, Naruto."
