True Strength

By Satsui no Hado Kairi

It was one year after the 3rd Grapple Tournament; Akira failed to win because of loss to Kage-maru. Akira fought well, but Kage's desire to save his mother gave him the edge during the fight. Immediately after his loss Akira went to the mountains to train, he wanted to improve himself and become a lot stronger.

March 5, 2002

Akira woke up early in the morning to start his training; it's been two days since he left home to train in the mountains. After washing up he put on his gi and walked outside and sat under a tree, he then began to meditate. He meditated for two hours; afterwards he got up and walked around to the back of the cabin where he staying. When he got there looked at all the training stations he'd set up. One station had a Wing Chun-like dummy; another was a huge tree with marks on it set as an indicator to where Akira would strike his target.

Akira had more than 6 stations where he'd practice his techniques and improve his style Hakkyoku-ken. Ever since his lost to Kage, he'd been asking himself,

"What is true strength?"

"Why am I still not strong enough?"

When Akira trained he pushed himself as far he could go everyday, all so he could become stronger, all to find out what true strength was. The training he put himself was rigorous, exhausting, and painful; it was like being in hell sometimes. Everyday punching the wooden dummies until they were either broken or his knuckles were completely covered in blood. Every day ramming his shoulders and back into hard wooden trees that shot tremendous pain through his body, yet; he was doing this to become stronger.

"Why am I not strong enough?"

"Why?"

All he could think about was why he lost, because his lack of ability. It was always there making sure that he'd never forget why he lost, that he'd never forget how Kage defeated him. While Akira trained he was fulfilling his goals finding out what true strength was, and atoning for his lack of ability. He also felt his soul strengthening; also he discovered new moves he could use to destroy his opponents. His training was starting to pay-off and soon he'll be ready to test his improved strength and skill. Akira trained harder and harder each day, this was not enough, he had to fight someone to see how far he'd gone in his training and he just the place where he'd find a decent fight. In past years during his training for the tournaments, Akira would go to an underground fight club called the Blue Dragon. There had been a lot of worthy fighters there. Akira turned around walked inside the cabin to change his clothes. He could not wait until he was there engaged in battle.

After washing up and changing his clothes Akira walked outside and got into his car and drove away from his cabin.

"Time to see how far I've gone, I hope my training has been enough." Akira thought to himself as he drove away.
