He could not believe that she thought that she would kill because of a genetic inheritance. He could not believe that she was balling her eyes out in front of him. Then he decided, that today was the day. He gently took her hand and she squeezed back.
"It is a miracle, Sara," he said softly, "that you have prevailed. You went to Harvard, you are beautiful, and a hard worker."
"None of that matters. I'm a drunk, insubordinate, and a basket case."
"Mmmmm. Hahaha," He couldn't help but chuckle a little. "You're beautiful, passionate, and loving. That's why I turned you down. I was never enough for you." He smiled a little.
She could only stare. He had explained it all. She stood up and walked to him. He looked up at her; a little worried as to what was going to happen. She bent down and placed her hands on his checks.
She looked directly into his eyes. "And I feel that you are all those things." She moved closer to his face but stopped mere centimeters from his lips.
"You have to take the last step," she said. He had found his opening.
Lips hit on lips.
'Finally,' ran through both their minds.
