My head is stuck in the clouds
She begs me to come down
Says "Boy quit foolin' around"
I watch him as he stares at the sky, like he's trying to find the meaning of life up there. I love seeing him so light and happy, like he was in his first year, without a care in the world. His messy black hair is covering his glasses, but you can still see the brightness in his eyes. We're sitting on the top of a hill, over-looking Hogwarts.
I told her "I love the view from up here
The warm sun and wind in my ear
We'll watch the world from above
As it turns to the rhythm of love"
He turns to me and smiles. I smile back, my vibrant, stick-straight bangs slightly clouding my vision. "I love this," he tells me. "Just sitting here, not being bothered by anything, with you."
We may only have tonight
But till the morning sun you're mine all mine
Play the music low and sway to the rhythm of love
The sun beats down on us more than it had before, giving its all before burning out. I turn up the music on the radio as a Plain White T's song comes on, and I hum along lightly with it. "I think," he says, "I'm in love." My heart drops momentarily and a depressed look crosses my face before I realize what he means. "Oh," I say stupidly and blush as he laughs at me.
My heart beats like a drum
A guitar string to the strum
A beautiful song to be sung
We stay like that for a while, just sitting and talking about shallow things, like old crushes and embarrassing stories, just enjoying the world.
She's got blue eyes deep like the sea
That roll back when she's laughing at me
She rises up like the tide
The moment her lips meet mine
We fall into a comfortable silence and he spontaneously kisses me on lips, a little roughly, but still sweetly, for the first time ever. I'm a little shocked by this at first, but eventually fall into it.
We may only have tonight
But till the morning sun you're mine all mine
Play the music low and sway to the rhythm of love
"What was that for?" I ask as we break apart. He thinks for a moment, then shrugs. "I wanted our first kiss to be a surprise, not planned or cheesy. Spontaneous. Just like us." I laugh at his metaphor and roll my ice blue eyes.
When the moon is low
We can dance in slow motion
And all your tears will subside
All your tears will dry
The sun has now fully set and it's pitch black outside, but we don't really care. We just walk back to the castle slowly and comfortably.
And long after I've gone
You'll still be humming along
And I will keep you in my mind
The way you make love so fine
"Goodnight, Harry," I tell him as he stands in the doorframe to my room and peck his cheek. He smiles and closes the door, leaving me to contemplate on the best night of my life.
We may only have tonight
But till the morning sun you're mine all mine
Play the music low and sway to the rhythm of love
