Haruka Kokonose was simply a boy. He had friends, family and interests. He liked to draw, read books and spend time with his friends. He was normal at first glance, when you looked into his big brown eyes. His eyes were filled with warmth and joy.
The happiness of living was what filled those eyes.
Yet now, now he lay, listening to the steady beeping noises. Surrounded by the color white, which made his eyes water. Haruka missed the good days, where he could think about drawing and homework. He hated the whispering of the doctors, muttering about problem after problem.
He already knew he was sick. He wished they would stop telling him, over and over.
"I miss my friends. Takane, Ayano, Shintaro." He muttered.
"Takane."
She was a girl with dark, bold features. She was mad a lot and usually grumpy. She was a video game champion and had introduced Haruka to some cool games. She was pretty normal for a girl, and did normal things. She got flustered easily and could be shy at times, but she was kind. She had always been nice to Haruka, and she had been his best friend for a while.
Haruka loved her. He loved her so much. She was beautiful and wonderful and… meant the world to him.
He would go to school tomorrow. He would meet Ayano, Shintaro and Takane. He just needed rest, right? That was what all the doctors said.
"Just a little longer." He muttered, closing his eyes. "I just need a little more time."
