Poseidon's Daughter

On the day Scylla White was born, the sky was at war with the sea. A freezing, harsh rain poured from overcast, skies. Waves as large as fifteen feet tall rocked the battered sword-fishing boat her mother had boarded in an attempt to protect herself from the gusts of hind that threatened to knock her over. The sea would protect her, no doubt, but that didn't make her any less angry with Poseidon. He impregnated her with a demon that couldn't be removed- no matter what method she tried. The baby was delivered quickly and without incident as the storm raged on above deck. Zeus was very angry indeed with his brother for breaking their pact the first, but there was no doubt he had had his affairs. The baby girl was born incredibly small and weak, her breaths short and quick with almost no color to her skin- skin the color of ocean foam. When she opened her eyes it was revealed they were a deep, sea green, just like her father's. As soon as she could get onto her feet, Scylla's mother climbed above deck and made her way cautiously to the railing.

"A daughter, just like you wanted, Poseidon!" she yelled above the sounds of the storm. She held the swaddled baby up for all to see.

"Well now you can keep her forever!" she screamed, her voice even more commanding than before as she pitched the helpless child into the sea. In that moment, the sky and the sea stopped fighting. All was silent- she boat rocked on gentle mounds of waves but other than that, nothing moved. The sun began to shine and the clouds parted away, turning from the depressing grey they had been to a bright white but the sea still stayed dark. Calm and brooding.

Let me know what you thought!
(It's short, I know. Like 300 words or something like that.)
