greetings its ghostjunko. this story contains blood and gore elements as well as knives. please be careful friend

Snowflakes fluttered along the wind, gently coming to rest on the mountain and forests upon it. The towering evergreens and abundant aspens decorated its snow-covered surface. Hidden among a tight patch of withering trees, a girl with blue twintails and a pink dress watched. She watched and she watched, though no one took note of her presence.

As the subjects of her spying were nearing the edge of her field of vision, the girl, Hatsune Miku, stood quietly. Barely making indents in the snow, she tiptoed further along the side of the narrow path.

Laughing and smiling were two girls; one with long pink hair and a white jacket by the name of Luka, beside one with choppy green hair and an orange overcoat by the name of Gumi. Anyone could see how cheerful they were in each other's company; especially Miku. She hated it, more than anything on the planet. She focused her intense disdain on Gumi; she had taken Luka away from her, leaving her alone. No matter who was by her side, they couldn't fill the hole Luka had left.

Her eyes twitching, Miku remembered the conversation they had had a few days before. "Please go. The doctor can help. You can't do this anymore. Please!" Luka had pleaded. "Do it for me if not for yourself! Y-You're scaring me! You're scaring everyone! Please!" Sobbing as Miku shook her head, Luka had rushed out of the building, leaving her there to ponder. She couldn't understand why Luka would want her to go away. She had concluded it was the fault of Gumi, the newest resident in the apartment complex, who had befriended Luka instantly.

Chortling softly to herself, Miku smiled. Soon this would all be over, and Luka would be hers again.

*****
Hours had passed. Gumi and Luka had finally decided to take a break from their hike, and had settled in a hollow on the left side of the trail. Miku's breathing was getting heavier with excitement. She could almost feel her blade sinking into the green-haired girl's chest.
She waited a few more minutes, hardly able to contain herself. Miku executed the first step of her plan; she threw a snowball just on the edge of the forest. Luka gasped, and eagerly got up. She adored animals and hoped it was a rabbit or something similar. Miku licked her lips.
Gumi drank from a bottle, watching her friend hunt for the source of the sound absently.

Strike.

Miku yanked Gumi from her spot, pulling her out of sight. She held a strong hand over her mouth and raised her axe. She cackled, her eyes wide and a line of drool oozing out of her mouth. "Bye-bye, goodnight for now!" She hurled it down, but was shocked as she was thrown off-course; her blade still made contact, severing Gumi's hand as blood spilled from the stump.

The identity of the person who had pushed Miku was revealed; the hostile, threatening form of Luka gazed down upon her. "No more. I will end this. Goodbye." Her voice dripped with malice as she unsheathed a shining dagger from her coat pocket. Miku was too astonished to move as Luka swiftly stabbed her in the throat. Choking, Miku gasped and fell backwards into the snow.

The last sight she would ever see was the disappointed, hateful glare of Luka before she turned away.
