AN: My first attempt at a drabble - and 100 words on the nose.
I just couldn't fathom why Peter and Olivia would name their daughter Henrietta. I mean, Henry the cab driver didn't have the same impact on Olivia as he had on her alternate, and how weird would it be for Peter to insist on using the name of a no longer existing son he was duped into fathering by an impostor of the woman he loved? But then Walter mentioned his grandfather and it started to make sense.
I better shut up now, this note is becoming longer than the story itself. Hope you enjoy!
"A GIRL?" Walter exclaimed. "Impossible."
Peter couldn't suppress a smile. "Actually, Walter, the chances were about 50:50 on this."
Walter cast an accusing eye at his surrogate son. "But Peter, you promised."
"Promised what?" Olivia asked, unable to tear her eyes away from the blurry black-and-white image of the sonogram.
"That we would name him Heinrich, after my grandfather."
Astrid's fingers were busy flying over the keyboard. "Well, in Germany the female version of the name 'Heinrich' is 'Henrike' or 'Henriette'," she announced after a quick search.
"'Henrietta?" Olivia said dreamily. "I like the sound of that."
End Note Thanks to angellcakes23 for bringing it to my attention, in 4x21 Walter was actually talking about his uncle Heinrich. So I'm going with the assumption that said uncle was named after his father - Heinrich was a very common name in those days - who of course would also be Walter's grandfather.
