Prompt: mud
Word-count: 503
A golden sunbeam lit up the small garret, made a young woman with ginger hair wake up.
He rolled out of bed, found his father on the floor, not dead, but drunk, asleep.
Helga stared out the kitchen window, the day shined; she smiled and poured water into a cup.
Aaron whistled for his dog, walked to a pen, shivered; the morning was still a bit chilly, he called for the black sheep.
The road was narrow, mud and tufts of grass, a humbled steam purled, it was not that far left to the village, but Helga was tired; mead was heavy to carry.
Today's work was done, Aaron's father whined, bawled, kicked him; a stroll was his rescue.
Helga saw him on her way back, his face was in grief, but his eyes were blue, kind and glary.
Aaron stood by the sheep pen, watched her stop, pick some straws of meadow fescue.
She fed one of the sheep grass, smiled at the young man with sorrow.
The sun sank, she glowed in the orange light and Aaron gaped at her.
Helga thought to herself; I've met my tomorrow.
His mind was a blur, his blood was hot; cheeks burned, but his palms were cold against the black sheep's fur.
Month of June had arrived, the world was pastel colored with hills in bright green.
Helga's stomach was twisting, her legs were both warm and cold, it was finally happening; their life with magic.
The carriage jounced, a strong wind, fluffy clouds, Aaron glanced at his newly wedded wife; who smiled brightly, and he knew he was going to treat her like a queen.
The years had passed; they had traveled around the country, Helga had to reason with Aaron, convince him that there were others like them, that magic was real and a life without it would be tragic.
The endless coastline appeared, grey, gold and blue, flat landscape, a single house, Aaron felt weird.
A woman and a man greeted them, the house was filled with people, magic bursting out of them, Helga couldn't stop laughing and talking.
He had not asked for this; Aaron watched Helga talk with a red haired man, she smiled at him, this is what he had feared.
A dark blue sky, whooshing sound of waves, they had gone out, needed some fresh air, had things to discus, Helga saw Aaron standing in the doorway, she kept on walking.
The rumbling snore of Aaron woke up Helga, she looked out the window; it was still snowing, large snowflakes swirled.
The students chattered with high and happy voices, Aaron glowered at them, but he lit up when Helga entered the room; his whole world.
Helga had been out walking across the grounds, her cheeks were rosy, she sat down beside her husband, glared at Rowena and Godric, didn't listen to what Aaron went on about.
Aaron finally caught Helga's attention, stared into her beautiful face, she grabbed his hand, opened her mouth; but nothing came out.
