Week 1 of the Ship Til You Drop Competition - Fred/Angelina

Greek Mythology Mega Challenge /Prompt : #35 Circe - Write about loneliness

Inspired by the song Photograph by Ed Sheeran

[A/N] I recommend listening to this song because it's really effing amazing. I cannot believe Ed wrote such perfection of a song. Every time I listen to it, I just feel the song. Really feel.

"We keep this love in a photograph
We make these memories for ourselves"

"Oh you can fit me
Inside the necklace you got when you were 16
Next to your heartbeat
Where I should be
Keep it deep within your soul

And if you hurt me
Well that's ok baby only words bleed
Inside these pages you just hold me
And I won't ever let you go

When I'm away
I will remember how you kissed me
Under the lamppost
Back on 6th street
Hearing you whisper through the phone
Wait for me to come home"

Angelina Johnson clutched the necklace of silver on her neck. It had intricate Quaffle and Bludger pendants next to her heartbeat. She looked down on the photograph she held on her other hand, which was slightly damp with her tears.

The photograph was taken in their Yule Ball, when she and Fred were dancing. It was a beautiful picture; Fred had his arms wrapped around Angelina, and Angelina had a special look on her face- a twinkle in her eyes and a bright smile. They were clearly having fun, with Fred showing laugh lines by his eyes and Angelina with her cheeks dusted pink. He looked absolutely dashing that night. He wore deep black dress robes with his hair swept back. He also acted like a true gentleman; Far from what Angelina got used to of him. He wasn't Fred but he's still Fred at the same time.

The necklace, meanwhile, was given to her weeks after the Yule Ball.

"What's this?" Angelina asked, holding the box and examining it.

"Open it so maybe you can figure out what it is, missy." Fred had told her, biting back a smile.

Angelina looked at him suspiciously and gingerly opened it, disgusting goo shooting straight to her face. "FRED WEASLEY!" she shrieked.

"That's just the introduction. Now, why don't you open it again and let's see what's next?"

When Angelina just glared at him he just snatched the box from her. He went behind her and placed something cold on her neck. She looked down to a beautiful necklace with detailed pendants.

"Fr-Fred, wha-?"

"A necklace, dummy." Fred grinned cheekily at her.

"Wh-What for?"

"Well, business was doing great and I've been wanting to give that to you for a couple of years now." Fred scratched the back of his neck, a shy smile adorning his lips.

"I- You don't have to.." It was her turn to blush.

"But I wanted to." he gave her a soft smile, wiping the green goo off of her face.

She closed her eyes as the memories washed over her. Their rows in their 3rd Year, their friendship on 4th Year, them flirting back and forth in their 5th Year and him asking her out for the Yule Ball in their 6th.

A certain memory stood out bright on her mind. It was before all the chaos of the war had begun. They went out and had a nice time together on Muggle London, tasting foreign food and poking fun at Muggles. Fred had walked her home to her small flat on 8th street. He stopped on his tracks on 6th street with a nervous look on his face. Angelina was just about to ask him what's wrong when he pulled her into a soft, passionate kiss. A kiss imprinted deeply on her lips even after so many years.

Angelina looked up at the starry sky. Fred was one of them already. She closed her eyes once more and whispered, "Wait for me to come home."
