Wrens POV

I walked down the hallway of the train car dragging my heavy trunk behind me. 'Why couldn't I have just brought a rolling suitcase?' I asked myself. Jill walked ahead quickly eager to see her friends again. She tossed her long dark brown hair to the side and opened the door of a compartment.

"Easiest way to make friends here? Pick an empty compartment and other first years who don't know anyone will need to sit somewhere. So they find a compartment with other first years who don't know anyone." I nodded my head in understanding and pulled my luggage into the small area. She set down her similar trunk and followed me in.

"Don't worry Wren, you're going to do fine. I'll be two compartments over if you need anything and Mairead will be here soon." She pulled me into a tight hug. "You're going to love it here. I promise." I nodded again at my older sister and pushed my trunk under the seats. She smiled and started out. "If you need anything-"

"Just come find you. I know. You've told me 50 times already," I said returning her smile, "I'll see you later."

"Ok," she said, "Have fun!"

'How am I supposed to have fun in a place where I know no one?' I wondered. Well that's not totally true. I know Jill and Mairead.

Jill is my older sister, this is here fourth year at Hogwarts. We're both considered muggle born, even though we both have magic. There are nine kids in my family, including us. Jill has always been super supportive and is the best older sister in the world.

Mairead is like my un biological twin. And my opposite at the same time. We grew up as neighbors and then became best friends over time. She's a half blood but she grew up without magic.

A blonde girl with startling blue eyes pokes her head into the compartment.

"Hi um are these seats taken or can I sit here or ummm-" she trails off.

"No they aren't taken come on in." I said, smiling. Jill had told me to be extra friendly to everyone. " My name is Wren!" She smiled and pulled her trunk into the room.

"My name is Azalea. I'm a first year." I couldn't help but grin.

"I am too!" We sat there talking about what we were excited about and what we wanted to learn for a while until there was a knock on the door. A familiar face stood leaning against the frame.

"MAIREAD!" I shouted, jumping to my feet. I raced over to her and tackled her with a giant hug. "You're here!"

"Well where else would I be?" She asked with a giggle. She turned to my new friend. "Hi, my names Mairead. What's yours?"

"My name is Azalea. Nice to meet you." Mairead tugged her suitcase over to where mine was stashed away. Within thirty seconds we were all in conversation as if we had known each other for years. A shy knock tapped on the wood.

"Hi! Yes! These seats are available! My names Azalea. What's yours?" The new girl standing at the door looked surprised.

"My name is Lillian." She said softly with a gentle smile. I decided that I liked her right away.

"I'm Wren and this is Mairead." I said gesturing towards the girl next to me. She waved and took a seat across from us. "Are you a first year too?" I asked. She nodded quickly with a grin.

Before I could ask her anything else another knock was heard and we looked up to find two more girls standing at the edge of the hallway.

"Hi, I'm Rayne and this is my friend Kaia. Would you mind if we sit with you?" The one with brown hair down to her waist asked. I smiled and nodded.

"Sure. I'm Wren, that's Mairead, that's Azalea, and that's Lillain. I said gesturing to each girl in turn.

"Hi!" Kaia said. She had shoulder length black hair and they both wore glasses, as did Lillain.

Soon we had all taken our places and had begun to chat. With a jolt the rain began to move. This was it. I was on my way to the most amazing place in the world.
