Well here is my first Ninjago story! And I have to say, I can NOT wait to see how it turns out.

So Ninjago fans, please welcome me into your fandom, by reviewing, favoring, following, and if you want, giving me helpful advice!

This is a prologue so it's short, but don't worry I'll come up with chapter one soon!

It was dark, the moon shone, full and bright. The only light in the surrounding stillness. Nothing moving, no sounds, not even the crickets chirped. It was as if something had frozen all of the night sounds and made it only a stiff still silent black color.

Even the sky was silent, clouds moving in over the moon sometimes blocking it's shining ray, then the moon seemed to fight against the darkness and forced a few quivering silver beams onto the earth.

Not a soul was out, or awake. For some unknown reason, the entire city seemed to be asleep. Well almost...

A swift shadow seemed to fly across the roof tops of the buildings, occasionally it's shadow would ripple the moons light as it flew past them. It jumped effortlessly, flipped and landed behind a crumbling old house made of clay. With a sure sweep it jumped through the glassless window and rolled onto it's feet in a graceful stand. With agility of the shadows it snuck into an opened room where an old man lay.

Asleep, vulnerable to the world. his gray hair indicating his long years, the wrinkles a sign of age and hardship. But the shadow hadn't come for him. No, it came for the thing around his neck.

A long simple chain with a stunning jewel attached to the end of it stood out against the shoddy surroundings. The shadows eyes flickered with anticipation as it reached out slowly in the darkness.

The elder moaned and moved, suddenly snapping his withered eyes open. He forced himself to sit up and looked blurry eyed around the dark room.

Nothing, nothing but the moon sending soft rays into his room from the uncovered window. He fell back to a peaceful slumber.

Not once realizing...

The precious jewel was gone...
