Author Notes:

Just some quick notes, Harry here is 3 years older than canon. So he is in his fifth year. He's also in Ravenclaw and some of his past will be revealed in future chapters. For now I'll say though that he is not living with the Dursleys. Harry is very smart, like a detective. He also knows all about his heritage and wizarding culture. This first chapter is also just Harry's inner thoughts on the events.

By now the entire Hogwarts populace have witnessed the crime scene of the petrification of Mrs. Norris, accusations are getting thrown around with fingers mainly getting pointed at Neville Longbottom, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger.

If anyone were to think it through they would know that this isn't the work of them, the genuine look of horror on their faces shown they weren't the culprits. Researching the Slytherin line shown that it died out with the Gaunt family. Which initially led me to believe that a possible squib line from a disowned family member could be the heir.

However the information gathered from the previous chamber of secrets incident 50 years ago doesn't add up. Not a lot information was released but facts and figures surrounding that year has led to me discovering what happened.

A muggleborn girl was found dead that year at Hogwarts in the womens bathroom on the second floor, her name was Myrtle Henderson. One Rubeus Hagrid was expelled and his wand snapped not long after this, with Tom Riddle receiving a special service award.

Hagrid is known for a love of dangerous animals, but he can't be the heir, he's a simple man, also considering the fact he's a half giant definatly rules him out. It is likely that he was discovered with a dangerous creature in school, probably by Tom Riddle which indicates for his award. With valid accusations on him he was likely blamed for the event with no further investigation. This likely led the true heir to lay low for a while.

Tom Riddle, this is a man who goes off the face of the earth in the 50s as their is no further mention of him, despite him being Hogwarts greatest student since Dumbledore himself. It is likely he was the heir the first time with Hagrid being his escape goat. He can't be the one behind the attacks now though can he? There are no students who are named Riddle unless he changed his name. But why now after 50 years?

There's also the blood on the wall, a blood analysis spell indicates that it was blood from a rooster, which conicendently all of Hagrids roosters have been killed. He's likely to be blamed again for this incident by the Ministry.

The petrification of Mrs Norris is fascinating, it is so much more than a simple body bind curse. It puts the victim in a permament vegatated state until they are healed with Mandrakes.

The blood on the wall is the key to narrowing down the search of the culprit. The height of the blood text on the wall indicates that the culprit is a first year or possibly a second year student. The way it was written also points that the perpetrator has tainty fingers, most likely a girl. How would a first or second year old girl be able to do this?

At the moment I have suspicions towards a girl which could point to Hermione with her being at the scene of the crime but she is a muggleborn unless she's related to the Dagworth-Granger line. The creature than did this though is still a mystery but prehaps the blood is also a link to the creature as well. Roosters are relatively harmless creatures but they have the extremely unique ability to kill a basilisk. The crow of a rooster can reportedly slay a basilisk in a matter of minutes. Basilisks are extremely rare but it would make sense that Salazar Slytherin would house one in the school to take down his enemies, but how is it getting around and why did it petrify and not kill?

There was water at the scene of the crime, if Mrs Norris looked into the gaze of the basilisk through that then she wouldn't have been instantly killed, she would have been petrified. Strange why there was water there in the first place but there have been reports of Myrtles bathroom flooding a lot more as of late. I think its time I spoke to Myrtle since its obvious she was the unfortunate victim 50 years ago. Prehaps she can shed some light on what happened 50 years ago and what happened with Mrs Norris.

Author Notes:

Theres the first chapter, next one should be coming soon. Also Myrtles last name here comes from the actress who portrayed her.
