Draco gazed at his fractured family. His mother looked broken, and his father wasn't much better off from where Draco could see.

A madman was in his manor, and not for the first time since this horrid year had began, did Draco regret ever deciding to give into familial pressure and follow the man his father had always touted as the greatest wizard there was.

The only thing that made living somewhat bearable was Theo. He knew his lover would never leave him. Most of the Slytherins Draco didn't trust, but he knew Theo would never turn against him, even if it was to save himself.

Every moment he could get away from the Dark Lord and his family, he spent with Theo in the relative privacy of his room. Theo was as frightened as him, but neither of them spoke the truth out loud. They liked to pretend everything was normal because they were afraid of what might happen if they stopped pretending.

Draco didn't notice another person seemed to be getting upset quite often over his relationship with Theo. He didn't realize one of his own friends was very close to becoming an enemy. And that person was pushed over the edge when they saw Draco and Theo in an intimate moment.

When he walked in on a pair wrestling on the floor, all he saw was Theo's brown hair and heard his pained gasp. Then he was on the couple, grabbing the assailant away from Theo.

He tossed the person away so they banged against the wall. He knelt down next to Theo, checking to make sure he was okay.

When Theo's breathing was under control, Draco approached the figure, and realized then that it was Pansy Parkinson.

Draco's eyes were cold, but it wasn't long before he realized that she wasn't breathing or moving even a little bit. She was dead, but he didn't feel any kind of remorse. She went after Theo and got what she deserved for her efforts.

"Happy birthday to me," Draco said coolly, ignoring the girl who meant nothing to him. He went back to Theo and together they left the room, not looking back at the prone figure.

Pansy would be found, and if they were questioned, their alibis were each other. No one would be able to prove that Draco killed Pansy because it was done without magic. And no one who resided in Malfoy Manor was smart enough to use a Muggle method to determine the truth.

No one would ever figure it out.
