Just a little story that came to my mind while listening to the OST of Madoka Magica. Enjoy!

I don't know what to do anymore. I'm here, in an abandoned subway station, my breaths come out in short gasps, the cuts and bruises sting and burn, I lie in a pool of my own blood and my vision is blotchy and blurred. Probably I won't get up from the floor anymore, nor now nor never, my life simply ends here, away from everyone, loved or not, without them knowning if I will come home early for Christmas.
A bitter smile appears on my lips as I think about them: my little sister is most likely annoying mom with a flurry of "Is Shiori coming home?", as she patiently replies "Don't worry Akisa, as we speak, Shiori is on the train to come here", while dad reads the newspaper and sometimes chuckles at Akisa's impatience. I give a chuckle too, but not a simple one, it's a crazed, twisted giggle that grows louder and louder until it explodes in a full-blown insane laugh that echoes through the station.

A strange animal-like creature goes near the girl. It looks like a cat, with long ears that have pink tips and golden rings around them, a fluffy white tail, a red circle on its back and glassy, round red eyes. It crouches next to the girl's head, looking at her, and, as her unfocused eyes register it, it speaks:
"Will you make a contract with me?".
The girl accepted, making the wish of going home like nothing in the subway ever happened. She fought the witches with her schyte, slicing through them as if she was Death itself, not a single remorse on her mind, as she kept repeating to herself "It's for the best, it's for my life". She chased away every demonic presence in her territory, going straight for the kill, not even bothering to deal with the minions. She put on fake smiles, for the sake of her family, for the hope of feeling something again, that wasn't bloodlust, insanity or emptiness.
That was until her sister got sick with leukemy.
The girl felt more empty than before, mixed with another emotion, what was it called again? Ah, right, despair. She got more desperate and empty every passing day, until her little sister died. That was the last straw, her remaining sanity snapped and, as she observed her Soulgem morph in a Witch Seed, her last thoughts were:
"It tricked me. It said I would live if I accepted the contract. What a liar"

So, how was it? I was in an angsty mood and bored out of my mind, so I wrote down something with the first word I read on the screen. How convenient was it that it was "tricks"? Don't forget to review the story! It'll make my Zorua happy, so DO IT! See you next time!
