Prompt: [Character] Professor Silvanus Kettleburn
I can't believe it's been a month and a half already! Thought the old professor as he stared at his newly replaced arm. He lost it to a Graphorn that he was showing to his class.
He looked into the mirror hanging on the wall next to his door, "Time to go to class!" he told himself as he walked out the door and down to his teaching area. Don't mess up again, Kettleburn. You need to show them that you can handle it.
He arrived at the teaching area and got his things gathered and ready. Then the kids start shuffling over. "Welcome students," he said in an excited voice, "Today I have something special planned for you."
"Let me guess, it's something that can kill with the flick of its tail," said one of the students.
"No, not if it stays in this containment unit," he says as he holds up a box, "Now gather 'round and take a look."
The students gather around him to take a look at the snake-like creature. "What is it?" asked one.
"This," he whispered as it slept, "Is an Occamy."
"Wicked!" one kid exclaimed, pushing his way through the crowd.
When he got to the front, he accidentally knocked the box out of Professor Kettleburn's hand. He tried to catch it, but failed. The box fell top open and the Occamy woke up and suddenly darted out of the box.
It grew to a massive size, smashing trees and knocking around children; it was looking for some food.
It decided that the tastiest thing around would be Kettleburn's leg. It started pecking and biting the lower half of his leg for a good five minutes before Kettleburn taught his students that is can only grow as big as the space it's in.
His students then cast a barrier and shrunk it, saving a barely alive Professor.
The day after all his wounds were treated, Professor Kettleburn taught his last lesson before he retired to enjoy some time with his remaining limbs.
