Hey! Okay, look, I know I haven't updated recently, but that's because I have three AP classes and tons of homework…Ah! The life of a high-school student!

Disclaimer: Unfortunately, Naruto is not mine and neither is the analogy. My mom is a math teacher, and uses this particular analogy when she's teaching Algebra I. I cannot take credit for it.

Tutoring

"No! Kiba, that's wrong again!" Sakura slammed her fist down on the textbook. "How is it that we're the same age and there's such a different level of math ability!"

"Sorry I'm not in Calculus like you and Shikamaru!" Kiba rolled his eyes. "What did I do wrong this time?"

"Look, you can't take 3x plus 8 divided by 4 and get 3x plus 2. No. It's just, no." Sakura cried.

"Why not?"

"Why not? Are you kidding?" She yelled again, earning stares from the other intellectuals studying over coffee in the crowded Starbucks.

"I don't understand why."

"I've been tutoring you for three weeks, and you don't understand WHY?" She practically screamed.

"No, so explain it." Kiba ran a thumb over the red tattoo on his cheek, sighing at his own stupidity.

"Okay. Okay." Sakura took in a few calming breaths. "Maybe this will help."

"What?"

"Shut up. Alright…"

3x and 8 are a beautiful, happy couple, holding hands and strolling throughout a glorious meadow…

"What does this have to do with math?" Kiba sighed.

"Shut up! Let me finish…" Sakura snapped.

Suddenly, along comes an idiot with a machete (4) and hacks one of the couple into little pieces and makes 3x watch.

"That's so jacked up!" Kiba muttered.

"Exactly! So when you solve this equation…split the terms into 3x divided by 4 plus 8 divided by 4. So the answer is…"

"3x over 4 plus 2." Kiba finished.

"Thank God! It's a miracle!" Sakura cried, throwing her hands into the air with her joy.

"So, um, Sakura…why don't I be the 3x and you could be the-"

"Kiba, you aren't good enough at math for that to be a pick-up line. Besides," she gathered her books, stood from her seat, and began to walk away, "some idiot might come along with a machete and hack us up."

He closed his Algebra I book and jogged enough to catch up to her, his Vans scuffing the cement outside the café. "I think I'll take my chances." He smirked, placing his arm around the shoulders of the pink-haired tutor.

Heheh…I think it's cute.

…if you're good at math that is.
