5996 birthday story for Chrome. And me :3

But, it's kind of a one sided 5996 and hints of 8096. First time writing angst, don't hurt me ;-;

Disclaimer: I obviously own nothing.

It hurts so much

It hurt him to see her being happy with someone other than him. It hurt to be so distant from her. But most of all, it hurt that he was in love with someone he could never be with. It was sad really, he, the Boss' right hand man was in love with such a weak woman. He should be focusing on protecting Juudaime and not some girl he thought. But no matter what, he just couldn't get her out of his head.

He was relaxing in his room at the Vongola mansion when he heard her joyful laughter. He took a look out his window, and there she was, running around and laughing with that baseball freak she was so in love with. There it was again, that painful feeling in his chest he gets whenever he sees them together. Sometimes he wonders if it's just his personality that drives her away or if he should have made a move.

Another night filled with dreams of the one that would never feel the same way. He just wished he could end this despair, but he can't get rid of his love for her, not even if he tried. It'll be her birthday in two days. He has to impress her, even if she doesn't like him the way he likes her. He has to get close to her in some way, so he'll settle for just friends. Maybe it'll satisfy his want for her he thought.

And so came the day of her birthday, he decided on getting her a necklace with indigo stones in it. Upon receiving her gift she gave him that beautiful blush and smile of hers. He knows it's just a habit of hers to blush at the slightest sign of kindness, but that didn't stop the fact that seeing it always made his heart race. But the one who received the brightest smile was the one she loved, the baseball freak, the rain guardian, the world-class baseball player, Yamamoto Takeshi. When they hugged and kissed he couldn't stand it, he just had to leave.

He went back home and collapsed on his bed, clutching at his chest. Reminiscing, he was reminded of all her sweet smiles at him, but was heartbroken at the very thought that he would never be the center of her affections. It would always be Yamamoto…never him. It would never happen was the last thought he had before drifting off into a deep sleep filled with dreams of heartbreak, tragedy, and despair.

AN: Yeah, uploaded before her birthday but whatever. I wanted to get it up before I lost it in all my files and forgot about it. Also, I said a birthday present for me too because my birthday is the day before Chrome's in case any of you were wondering. R&R please, I really did try hard on this.
