She's back. He can smell it the minute he walks into the guild, and its written on everyone's faces as they talk in excited whispers. Laxus immediately knows today is going to be hell, with Freed all over her and Bixlow and Evergreen on the edge of their seats, hoping to join him. It's stupid really, or at least he think so. Laxus Dreyar just cannot understand why everyone is so god damn obsessed with Lisscelia Sabell.
Lisscelia, Lissi as she goes by, isn't anything particularily strong. She uses an average type of summoning magic centering around stupid cards. He secretly thinks she mimics Cana, but he would never let her little fan club know he doubted her. As far as Laxus was concerned, his thoughts were his own. If he voiced them they'd fall on deaf ears anyway.
It isn't even like Lissi has done anything to him either. She's always kept her distance, popping in whenever her partner does. Delaney is much more manageable, less talkative and bubbly. Easier to just sit in silence with, whereas Lissi would be tapping her fingers or kicking the leg of her chair. They're all pretty sure that it's physically impossible for the dark haired girl to sit still. She squirms and fidgets constantly. It enamored Freed. And annoys Laxus. Her voice is too loud and bubbly, she's nosy, and above all she's the most irritating, infuriating and absolutely gorgeous person he's ever met.
Wait...what?
Laxus questions his subconscious as it dawns on him. He's just called Lissi gorgeous. Granted her dark hair falls smoothly over her shoulders in a soft wave he just wants to touch. And blue eyes that he stares at when he thinks no one is looking. The soft scent of vanilla and cocoa that always hovers around. She's short, and he thinks she'd fit perfectly into his arms if she'd give him a chance.
"Hi Laxus!" The voice snaps him out of his daydream and draws his eyes to me her.
"What do you want?" He nearly snarls as he sees her, slightly leaning over his table with her hands crossed over her chest.
"Excuse me? You were the one that muttered my name. I almost thought you were dreaming about me" There's that infuriating smirk again. She's arrogant as hell and he likes it for whatever twisted reason.
"You mistook my tone for something else then" Laxus straightens up as he feels the guild's eyes on them. "I was figuring just how long I'd have to suffer through your cheek."
"Oh really?" Lissi is standing straight now, her blue eyes sparkling with information only she has. "Want to explain why you're blushing?"
Delaney Azeel, standing just behind Lissi, chokes on the sip she was taking from her water bottle. The S-Class fear mage is looking from Lissi to Laxus in awe. The rest of the guild hadn't heard it, but Delaney had. And she clearly wanted answers.
"I wasn't" He protests, turning his head away from her.
"Sure" She draws it out, lingering on the u and r. "Oh and Laxus?"
"Wha-" He's caught off guard when she leans over the counter and kisses his cheek, adding in an extra nip teasingly.
"I missed you too" She walks away without another word, leaving Laxus with a baffled Delaney and a million questions as to why she'd done it.
He really hated Lisscelia Sabell.
