Disclaimer: You know the drill. Characters belong to Meg Cabot. Ancient Greek Mythology belongs to...well, the Ancient Greeks, I suppose, except they hadn't invented copyright back then.

I pulled the scissors from my pencil case and snipped off a split end I had found in my hair. God, I hated history. What a waste of time. Who needed to know about... What were we learning about? I tuned back in to Sister Frances to find out. The first word I heard made me wish I had been listening to my teacher's monotonous voice for the first fifteen minutes of the lesson.

"Hector was slayed…"

I grabbed a piece of paper out of my binder and quickly scribbled a note to Cee Cee:

Wat r we learning bout?

I pushed it across the desk to her. She looked down at it and rolled her eyes, stopping abruptly when she saw the look on my face.

Suze, she wrote back, you look like you've seen a ghost. What's wrong?

Hah. How ironic.

WAT R WE LEARNING BOUT? I wrote, my writing messy and wobbly.

The Trojan War. Why?

Good, they wouldn't need to defibrillate me - my heart had started to beat again. For a horrible minute there I thought she had been talking about my Hector. My Jesse. Not that he was mine. Unless the definition of mine is 'avoiding you at all costs.' Seriously, ever since that day, I'd hardly seen him.

Who was Hector?

I asked Cee Cee, pushing the piece of paper back to her. She leaned over and circled a paragraph of my text book in the red marker she had been using to draw 'Adam and Cee Cee Forever' on her hand. It hardly fitted. Why didn't she just use txt talk like everybody else?

In Greek mythology, Hectōr (κτωρ, "holding fast"), or Hektōr, is a Trojan prince and one of the greatest fighters in the Trojan War. He is the son of Priam and Hecuba, descendant of Dardanus, who lived under Mount Ida, and of Tros, the founder of Troy. He acts as leader of the Trojans and their allies in the defense of Troy. Hector is one of the Nine Worthies, as he is known not only for his courage but also for his noble nature.

Courage? Noble nature? I was starting to re-think my skepticism of reincarnation. The name even meant holding fast – stubborn, just like Jesse.

A/N: Thanks for reading. Reviews are greatly appreciated. Next 'bit' will be uploaded when I can be bothered. And the fancy bit bout Hector that was in Suze's textbook was from Wikipedia.
