Yami no Matsuei
Disclaimer: I do not own Yami no Matsuei. Yeah, I say that all the time.
A/N: Hi all..! I can't believe this is year is almost over! Here's a holiday story with Muraki and Tsuzuki! Let's see what they're up to. Enjoy!
"I've saved a space for you, beloved," Muraki threw back the thick blanket and patted the couch seat next to him.
Tsuzuki grinned and handed his husband the mug of steaming hot chocolate and settled beside the silver blond.
"This is so cozy, Kazutaka," Tsuzuki remarked, taking a sip of his drink. "Mmm, I think this is the best batch of cocoa I've made so far."
Chuckling, Muraki took his own sip and nodded. Tucking the thick comforter around them, he waved his hand, turning out the lights. With another wave of his hand, the Christmas tree lights illuminated and twinkled a multitude of colors.
"Wow!"
The two men leaned into each other, finishing their drinks, staring at the tree in a comfortable silence. How much time passed, Tsuzuki couldn't say. It seemed mere minutes and many hours.
He was so content and happy. Everything he ever wanted had come to pass. A beautiful and loving marriage, a cozy home, work that challenged and excited him. He squeezed Muraki's hand as if to convey these thoughts. Muraki returned the squeezed and gave a kiss in return.
"I feel the same, beloved."
Tsuzuki nodded and smiled. "The tree looks great, Kazutaka. It was fun decorating it. And the Christmas dinner last night with our friends was special too. I don't think I laughed so much listening to Watari's jokes."
Muraki raised a brow. "Indeed. He does have a way of telling a story. He is very high energy, to be sure."
Tsuzuki nodded. "Yeah, he is. So tonight is a nice contrast, watching the snow fall and the Christmas tree and sitting by the fire all warm and cozy." The brunet snuggled deepr into his husband's arms, the comforter surrounding them.
"Quiet times such as these are the best, I agree with you there, beloved," Muraki rested his cheek atop his husband's head. "I find myself looking forward to times like this, just the two of us. No phone calls or texts. No interruptions of any kind. Just this peacefulness."
"Mmm," Tsuzuki closed his eyes, breathing deeply. "I agree. Our first Christmas as a married couple. Do you think, Kazutaka, this could be our tradition to spend a quiet Christmas Eve exactly like this?"
Muraki smiled, silver eyes sparkling. "To shut out the world? I would love that. Very well. Our own tradition starts this night. Every year on Christmas Eve, we will drink hot chocolate made specifically by you..."
Tsuzuki laughed.
"I will get the fire started and we'll take our place in front of the tree just like this. A thick comforter and attired in comfortable sleepwear."
"I second that!" Tsuzuki remarked, grinning.
"Then let it be so," Muraki murmured, kissing his husband's cheek. Tsuzuki settled into Muraki's arms, focusing on the twinkling tree lights. A thought came to him.
"Kazutaka?"
"Hmm?"
"Another tradition we could have would be that right about now, you would sing Christmas carols," Tsuzuki looked up expectantly at his husband with wide violets.
Muraki lifted a brow. "Oh? Well, yes, that would be a nice tradition, ne? Let's see." Clearing his throat, the silver blond began to hum softly then a sang a familiar carol, his tenor voice hitting the notes perfectly.
Tsuzuki smiled, closing his eyes, savoring his husband's splendid tones.
This was exactly how he pictured his perfect Christmas.

A/N: My plan is to write a couple of short stories about how Muraki and Tsuzuki are spending this holiday season! Until next time! :)
